Something I’ve noticed 1921 Morgan culls and Peace dollar culls are usually way higher grade than pre 21 Morgan culls They didn’t circulate like the older ones did, just something to keep in mind when buying for bullion/stacking

My Morgan's are not for melting, they are for Trading I have Buffalo Rounds, you can melt them if you like

They don't call it a Cartwheel because of the weight The Fields of a regular commerce Morgan otherwise known as Mint State, the Luster otherwise known as Basining or Basin Polish looks like a Cartwheel as you turn the coin in the light Many coins have this characteristic but Morgan's are best known for it brYes I buy Fine Grade Morgan's and I clean them, cause I like mine Blast White with the Cartwheels, if there is any Cartwheel left that is Sodium Fluoride and Plastic Polymers is the best cleaner I have found, very gentle on the coin

I don't "stack" Morgans, rather I collect them even knowing that I will never be able to afford a complete set, ESPECIALLY in MS60 Those are typically ugly coins when an AU58 that may be technically worth less, but in many cases appear nicer at least with casual, unmagnified viewing If the world ends, and their numismatic value goes away completely, to render them no more valuable that the most common ASE or even rounds of similar silver content than I'll never get my money back, but if that happens, I suspect getting my money back from my numismatically valuable- though in my case, the most expensive Morgan I have is $1,100 and that's if it'll slab in the MS66 state I think is accurate "Just" getting a 65 cuts that value in half, despite the reality that even experienced coin people can have honest disagreements on which grade, if either, it deserves

I enjoy collecting Morgan Silver Dollars cause they have history I only a few there is however one Morgan silver dollar I treasure in my collection It's an 1880-S The coin itself is a common date but the thing that makes it special is that it's Rainbow Toned on both sides of the coin

Great topic! A coin dealer and collection ounce told me-"never purchase a low value coin" I think he was driving to the same point as you here- millions of poor condition coins are just worth silver value and nothing more The most watch vid, I ever had was on this topic as well Anyways, the only problem is that you must have the wallet to buy the nicer coins, low mintage dates and mintmarks, etc- not for everyone Collect Morgans and stack other types of silver, imo

And like you, i also try to stay away from graded Morgan's I prefer them in the raw form Now i do have a few slabbed Morgan's but only because there speciality or numismatic piece's Other than that, if you can get them for a decent deal, I think that the value of them will increase as the year's and decade's go on
