What really works for me is focusing on how the front wheel is pivoting when commencing a turn That front wheel is designed to pivot to stop you from falling over focusing on that the front wheel is keeping you safe and not falling gives me all the confidence I need to make a turn Comment from : @nicholasgalliano8541 |

Excellent video hands-down one of the best out there Comment from : @Lagoonster |

Moved from a CB500 to a 117" This is helping a lot Thank you! Comment from : @rob427ford |
Bike will never go down as long as there is enough power to rear wheel you go down not due to leaning but going slower than suppose to Of course if you are leaning and not going fast enough that is guaranteed alsoAn upright bike can also do a u turn with either using rear brake or the cluth at a slow speed as long as you are in the friction zone making adjustment and even balancing your bike some Thank you for the video Comment from : @TheShocktrauma |

Motorcycle cops in my city train as a unit on a regular basis just like fighter pilots, no matter how long you have been a motorcop Comment from : @matrox |

First of all I want to thank you so much for your lessons I've been riding motorbikes for around 14 years (between long times off, a few times on, etc), but NEVER could manage to learn these low speed u-turns, I had so much fear that I can't describe, and felt ashamed of not being able to do so! But after watching your videos (specially this one!) I decided to take my bike an go for a practice yesterday, 17/Nov/2024 I swear for God that I thougt I would need a lot of practice sessions to be able to do that, but I kept so much inside my head the steps you taught that after around 5 (YES! FIVE!) minutes I was doing low speed u-turns using the preload, rear break a little counter-balance Jesus! I am so happy that I had to come back here and show you my gratitude, man! Thank you so much, your patience teaching, your positivity and good humor are rare to find God bless you today and forever! Regards from BrazilbrbrEdit: I was so proud that I recorded a part of the practice and changed for the first time my YT profile picture for um of its shot hehe Comment from : @Leonardo_Falcao |

Why the hell monocycle has to be huge and heavy? You can drive a coupe and heavier and easier to drive But I understand people who like challenge Comment from : @tpol6515 |

Thanks for debunking the common – and contradictory – myths about leaning -YES and leaning -No You’ve explained that 5 (as I see it) variables are at play: throttle, rear brake, speed, leaning (bike and/or body) and circle radius; it’s up to me – in learning and practising – to play with these 5 and find my own ‘balance’ Especially helpful are the four steps in building up the tight turn/U-turn routine and overcoming fear Step by step Comment from : @popocatap |
I really need to practice this exercise going to look for a spot in flushing meadows park Queens NY thank you Comment from : @davidsoto9211 |

what the heck is a preloaded? Comment from : @smokysantana |
Off the physics of a motorcycle utilizing your back break makes sense at points as I was taught when I was riding to only use 10 of the back break, but the front brake is going to want to make you fall if you're over utilizing it in a turn, makes so much sense Thank you Comment from : @stevenhartshorn9133 |
I love it Comment from : @boutrosalkhouri4523 |
Very important when we slow or about to stop, the bike should lean to the left, to put down the left leg while the right one still on the brakes, I never known that, Comment from : @boutrosalkhouri4523 |
Great and excellent teaching Comment from : @boutrosalkhouri4523 |
Thanks man I learning from you, I still weak to turn or make U turn, Comment from : @boutrosalkhouri4523 |
Hello I'm new rider , I think we have to lean the bike all the time to ward the left, and depends on the left leg to hold the bike, also to be able to left the right one and use the brakes I never did that I always use the front brakes which no good, Comment from : @boutrosalkhouri4523 |
I know this video is older but I’m just finding it Can the same technique be applied on a sport bike? Comment from : @NikMarRita |
What about if you have big rims or the forks are raked won’t it throw off the turn ratio and make it more difficult Comment from : @martinb8757 |

How do you keep the throttle steady?😊 Comment from : @roddy0567 |

Got my 2024 Road Glide last week, before I was riding a modded Sportster I had no problems and no fear of leaning the Sportster, but with the RG, it's another story Most lickely because I'm still not used to the weight and size (couldn't ride much because of a busy life and weather) but trying to get some practice done this weekend Comment from : @SINasTER75 |
Fear of leaning my bike is due to laying down an expensive piece of equipment! That all changed when it wasn't my investment, trust me! Comment from : @rilydog2953 |
Merci ! Comment from : @PhilippeM-c5t |
Be honest, though, I haven’t practiced much since I laid it down the third 3rd I broke one of my mirrors had to order new ones My shoe went flying It was embarrassing People saw it brIt’s nice gas stopped and helped me pick up the bike I Should’ve been in a parking lot I had a rough start I can’t give up I can’t I won’t Comment from : @randallhayes2459 |

Brother, I’m watching this video over and over again I just got my motorcycle I commented a while back on your one of ur vids My fear level is through the roof I’m in Mississippi, wished I was in Georgia lol I’d take your class in a heartbeat All i got is me and utube the MSF course I’ve heard is like really expensive, I don’t have it like that know what I’m saying There isnt one near me anyways I’m not gonna let this fear beat me I want to ride motorcycles , I want to ride well and safe I should’ve research before i got on the bike I didn’t, I laid it down 3️⃣ times I had no idea these channels existed until i joined this Facebook group This guy sent me a link to ur channel I joined group’s that was bout Honda shadows, thats what i bought I wanted a Harley, they was outta my price range so I got something that looks like Harley lol 😂 it’s a Honda Davison 😂 anyway brother I’m sorry this comment is so long You probably won’t ever see it but I do appreciate it Keep up the good work, fantastic channel Comment from : @randallhayes2459 |

Everything is in the friction zone? Or you apply some throttle? While making the turn Comment from : @flakillo99 |
This video really explains it well! Thank you!brbrSo, when you preload, the power is constant, that way how fast you move forward is dependant on how much clutch and rear brake you release And covering the rear brake simply means you're prepared to apply or release pressure depending on how fast you're moving Is that correct? Comment from : @frankleblanc6490 |
mf almost started drifting on them bikes in that first clip😂 Comment from : @bryan270 |

This channel in my opinion is clearly the very best for learning safety & riding techniques I turn 62 next month and buying a low rider ST for my birthday I wouldn't even consider buying a heavy biker had I not had access to such important videos like all the ones he puts out I feel confident I can handle a heavy bike knowing I will put 100 plus hours in the parking lot before ever attempting any serious riding And I understand how preload works which makes so much sense My last bike was a Street Glide I sold 17 years ago so this is all new to me 217 years ago and I never practiced in a lot nor learned any of these skills Just got on bike and rode Not a smart idea and truth be told the only time I ever dropped the bike was going 3 miles an hour at an outdoor biker bar I never understood about the friction zone, preloading to up to 2000 RPMs, rear brake control etc It just makes so much sense I am going to retake the MSF course and any advanced courses that Harley offers For you preloaders who live near Robert in Georgia you are some very fortunate people to be able to ride with him every week and practice with the best instructor on YT Safe travels everyone Robertyou are the true bossman 👍 Comment from : @director2bob |
Give me a bike to try it I don't wanna drop a 55k bike trying to learn this Comment from : @simonr3550 |
This lesson is an eye opener and thought provoker, much thanks from a foreigner Not having to lean the bike in slow turns makes sense because of the physics involved To make a slow turn leaning the bike is not necessary because the low speed involved does not induce significant centrifugal force on the bike or rider Faster speeds require leaning to keep the angle of the bike and rider in line with the tyre's contact patches Does that makes sense? |
Robert thank you brother! Your channel has helped me more than you can possibly imagine ! I'm proud to be a vipreloader! Thank you for all your hard work 😅 Comment from : @DwayneHenderson-cb2wr |
I've seen people righten their dropped bikes, not by lifting at all, but doing something you teach They turn the bike ON (not off), in gear, clutch in, preload, and let off on the clutch It's exactly what you teach for low speed maneuvers, but they use the power of the bike to right itself from a drop Comment from : @broomstreettd |
I love my Ultra Classic but I won't lie To me, it's a very intimidating bike, especially at low speeds I won't even let my wife ride with me simply because I don't want to risk her getting hurt if I put the bike down I don't even go on club rides or ride with other bikers because I don't want to risk going down or causing another rider to go down brI need to master so many basic skills with this bike and it does get overwhelming when I see how well others ride their machines and here I am struggling to even keep the bike going in a straight line at 10 mphbrHopefully I can gain more confidence and hone my skills watching this channel Comment from : @FreedomFromWithin2023 |

So in your turns it appears your on the brake, throttle and clutch together? Comment from : @gloryland59 |
thank you for the awesome video, the positivity is so refreshing for a newer rider like myself! are these skills/exercises 1-4 directly applicable to smaller, lighter sportbikes with higher centers of mass? sometimes i'll be trying to do slow speed turns like this and be full lock but still going quite wide :/ Comment from : @gilernt |
Remember, Memorial Day is about those who gave their lives for you, not those who are still alive and serving That is Veterans Day! Comment from : @steve1263 |

I thought "you guys" only rode Kawasaki's n Honda's at least when I was growing up in Milwaukee? Settle down I had a few beers, I am a comedian I was referring to you being a copper hehehe Actually the coppers in Milwaukee always rod Harley and still dobrbrSo how many times did you wreck learning on a "state" bike with no worries about paying for repairs out of pocket Mastering the rear brake/speed is huge Comment from : @poorwhiteboy6594 |
Thanks! Comment from : @shaspaz |
