There is no coherent threat assessment that would suggest you need to spend that much Russia has a spy base as does China in Cuba, to my knowledge that is it for military bases in the Western Hemisphere Now they have reciprocity agreement with countries like El Salvador or others in the Latin World Those remain to scene but official bases neither is present in America's backyard We got pissy when Russia or China flies standard cooperative flight training around the Russian Arctic Or, does similar naval operations along the Aleutian Island chain, which extend 1100 miles into the Northern Pacific But that's not the same as have over 400 bases surrounding China, or getting well within the Chinese international recognized maritime exclusion zone SO NO THERE IS NO SECURITY ANALYSIS THAT WOULD JUSTIFY HAVING MILITARY OPERATIONAL BUDGET NEARLY A TRILLION DOLLARS
