Spielberg was a genius The suspense and story line of this movie was unreal Comment from : @NeilStuhlmiller |
I purchased JAWS and JAWS 2 for 99 scents at a video store over ten years ago, and I'm sooooo happy Comment from : @vernonmontgomery5012 |

Anyone who unironically thinks that the special effects in 1975 are better than what we have now is completely delusional or a Gen X who totally doesnt care about anyones opinions but will argue til they're blue in the face about how the shit they had as kids was so much better brJaws is a masterpiece moviebrDeep Blue Sea's CGI was more realistic than literally any Bruce shot in the first film and their practical sharks were 10x better than Jaws brThis isnt up for argument because i already know every argument id get and theyre all gonna come down to people who arent artists pretending they understand how 3D rendering works and have never done a creative thing in their lives but are quick to explain to others how they know everything about it, OR its gonna be all based on your feelings which dont mean shit to anyone BUT you Comment from : @wednesdaygeckok7899 |
9:33 this is true IRL too, you never hear the music because the shark's not real but you the vulnerability you'll feel will be very real, like it could arrive at any moment even though you know logically it's not real, your primal instinct lives on Comment from : @clintonalver2715 |
I remember telling my kids to watch out for the land shark in the toiletbrbr🦈 🚽 😊 Comment from : @getoffyoubassandletsfish8565 |
I gotta say that was one of the best outros I’ve seen on YouTube excellent job Comment from : @jacksonharman2844 |
What are the synthwave tunes you used in this vid OP? They are class Comment from : @bozcoustics5448 |
Now considered the industry standard of not explicitly revealing the baddie/villain/monster until very late in the movie, and just alluding to, hearing, talking about, reacting to, and seeing through the eyes of - it until that jump-scare well-timed moment BUT everything I've read/seen/heard about the movie indicates that "Jaws" was mostly hidden all that time because the prosthetic mechanical robot shark kept failing and had to be taken out for repairs So Spielberg's genius was actually that his movie prop supporting character kept breaking This is now common knowledge, (LOL) Comment from : @nongthip |
When people see this movie as a kid they have one of three reactionsbrThey are afraid of the water which many people werebrThey want to hunt sharks and be like Quint, which has decimated the ecosystem of the oceansbrOr they want to study sharks and help preserve them, which is why we see more fields of science dedicated to studying them than ever Comment from : @THEDonnyB |
The animatronic isn't quite accurate, but it definitely does look the part But yes, it was shot in a way that makes it look absolutely amazingbrThe pond scene is also an amazing preview of the shark You get a glimpse but it's over so quickly that you don't truly get an idea of it's scale Comment from : @THEDonnyB |
This is my favorite movie of all time, and I think it’s a genius masterpiece from every aspect The only thing that ever bothered me was that Quint lost his grip, in pain, from an oxygen tank rolling on his fingers That wouldn’t hurt Especially for a working man like Quint Comment from : @jimlahey3919 |
Brody looks like Calvin's dad Comment from : @adamwilson1691 |
Definitely doesn't look like a fake rubber Animatronic to me at the end of the day even after 36 years of watching films !!!! CGI always looks cartoonish especially these days!!!! 01 of CGI looks more real than the shark from the original JAWS , the only reason u idiots think it looks fake is because u found out it was so now it's stuck in ur stupid ass head but if u didn't know wtf a animatronic was , u wouldn't even be thinking that way 😂brbrbrLames Comment from : @maralinekozial9131 |
Dude Bruce looks pretty real I’ve seen sharks at the aquarium and seeing the puppet shark imposed side by side real shark footage used in the film sells my disbelief I have to remind myself that certain scenes are puppet sharks As for quint I love his character and his end tragic is a close mimic of captain Shan and Moby dick A warning to anyone who thinks themselves a hero or main character and becoming a reckless moran Comment from : @DivineKnight_115 |
I rewatched Jaws a few days ago Not only does it bcompletely/b hold up, I think it is a bperfect/b film So, so good Comment from : @Argelius1 |
Can we all take a minute to salute Verna Fields Without her this film would be a mess Comment from : @The_Big_Blue_Bug_of_Justice |
Great Video 😊 Comment from : @Ashfaq1999 |
Since I watched it when I was very young I loved this movie Now, 30 years old, videos like these just show me WHY I loved the movie so much without even recognizing the reasons Comment from : @KlaymenDel |
Marines Hymn!brbrSemper Fi Do Or Die! Comment from : @LudwigPaiste28 |
The shark didn’t look believable at all Especially when it’s whole body comes out of the water and is on the boat Comment from : @faisalmemon285 |
great video ruined by the murican narrating 😒 Comment from : @graememcfee23 |
Bruce wasn't a puppet! It was an animatronic mechanical effect there's a difference Comment from : @zosometalgod |
Does somebody know the Quint theme part? Comment from : @Nochezelcalacas |
When I was a kid, seeing this the first time, seeing those yellow barrels lurk around was more tense than actually seeing the shark Comment from : @Nepomniachtchi_Austin |
Outstanding! Comment from : @raymondphillips7762 |
I honestly think that Brody was gonna use the spear to stab the oxygen tank blowing up him and the shark but couldn't because he wasn't at the right angle and his back up plan was to use the rifle Comment from : @MRSTICKMANDUDEREAL |
If anyone had talked to any of us who lived by the Atlantic Ocean we could've warned them about what salt water would do to Bruce Living in Massachusetts I can remember all the excitement there was, at least on the South Shore & the Cape, about the filming at the Vineyard Comment from : @munkustrap2 |
A what? Comment from : @DogeZilla54 |
The most believable shark ever RIP Bruce🦈🦈🦈 REAL special effects Not CG garbage Comment from : @rhettcorbett3346 |
I hadn't noticed the air tank foreshadowing before Makes me love this movie even more Comment from : @Write_Charlie |
First two jaws movies are by far the best ones Jaws 3 & jaws: the revenge are utter shit Comment from : @imaxyxia |
The credit given to Hooper is much neededunderstated strength and every bit Quints equal without the bravado Comment from : @anz2441 |
Haha best line from the movie, one that can’t ever be beaten is “ you’re gonna need a bigger quote” 😂 Comment from : @qwave1322 |
The thing that always struck me about Jaws was no one noticed it was a robot and pretended it was a real shark However the real question should have been who made it and why it played music whenever it appeared 😂 Comment from : @qwave1322 |
Brody, a trained NYC police officer looked at the shark as an adversary that had to either be captured or killed Like any good police officer he took his job seriously Amity was his town and those were his people He was going to protect them at all costs Quint , on the other hand was Captain Ahab 20 In Jaws 2 nobody believed Officer Brody, even though he had seen a shark up close and knew what he was talking about Brody, however, was once again open to learning He listened to the marine biologist as she was examining the dead killer whale When the time came chief Brody remembered her teaching that sharks are attracted to rhythmic sounds To me in both movies, the way the sharks met their demise was equally spectacular! Comment from : @recoveringnewyorker2243 |
I met Bruce the Mechanical Shark when I was at Universal Studios last year and remember seeing the movie for the first time at age six while visiting my grandparents in Sydney and went to the beach a few hours later Comment from : @Aussie1276 |
The diver with a video camera made the best shark! Comment from : @randyduyck6254 |
The shot when the shark swims by the ORCA underwater for the first time is, in my opinion, one of the greatest shots of cinema history Especially when you consider what is contained “in frame” technically and artistically Comment from : @wkanost |
The shark is just a setting of the film just to underline a friendship between three men Comment from : @miamicool666 |
I wonder if you’d do a video on the 55 Moby dick I recently bought the movie and watched it with my dad and he had last saw it air on his tv as a kid in 1968 Gregory peck has gone on record saying he hates his performance in that movie but he managed to pull off an unhinged and mad being hellbent on revenge Comment from : @lemmyspeaks |
I've seen the film a million times and thought I'd read/knew everything there was to know about Jaws and yet you guys taught me a ton of info I never knew! Thanks for a great video!!! Comment from : @stephenterranova8455 |
Gives me the chills Comment from : @justinwalker6902 |
Love your video Except for the music Why in the world would you pick whatever that was? It gives no clue or connection to the material, Comment from : @taylormcc |
i always loved how when the shit hits the fan quint actually turns to hooper and asks if any of his toys can help Comment from : @stevenr6397 |
Absolutely loved how you broke down the movie in a way I would never have thoughtBrilliant Comment from : @michaelmaybe3 |
The shark in Jaws looks 100 real to me I think it’s because I watched it so much as a kid and although I knew it was fake it still looked absolutely real So I think it looks just as real to me as an adult as it did when I was a kid If that makes sense Comment from : @rb5078 |
You guys did an awesome job w that 👏🏽 Comment from : @Philip8825 |
I❤JAWSbrDefinitely one of the all time greatest films ever made Comment from : @garrisonnichols807 |

This film is beyond a masterclass - its a league of its own entirely - the last word in true cinema creativity the film will be timeless purely for the fact that your own imagination is preyed on so much throughout the picture I never knew about all the foreshadowing of the canister but you show it like that and my first thought was "omg Spielberg is SOOO far ahead of the curve!" - absolute brilliance My son is coming up to the point of being able to watch this and i cant wait because i know its going to scare and enthrall him by what he doesn't see and in a world of CG blockbusters this ability to let the viewer use their imagination is rapidly getting lostbrbrlove to see one on Aliens if you haven't done so ? Comment from : @anthonymcgrath |
there are ONLY few perfect movies and this is ine of embras a kid i was afraid to swimm in the ocean bc of Jaws Comment from : @seyo8068 |
Better than the bag of shyte the meg Comment from : @nathanpeel9389 |
Quints Us Indianapolis story and how he was chomped down on and devoured in the sharks mouth is crazy Comment from : @veronicajames7206 |
I saw "Jaws" when it first came out at theaters, and it's been my #1 film since Comment from : @rehustler |
Other than the corner of the mouth, i never though of the shark as fake because i conditionned myself to believe it was a prehistoric shark and not a Great white Comment from : @hxcvocalist |
I just finished jaws 3 minutes ago Comment from : @apfau2 |

15:44-“Walk straight ahead”br“(Laughs) They’re all gonna die!” 🤣 Comment from : @zyloproductions4870 |

Great content Comment from : @faceripper77 |
I think the shark still looks pretty good tbh Comment from : @hoobadooba2000 |
This is definitely one of the better Jaws reviews / analyses I've ever seen The editing of the montage at the end particularly stands out The images and the music strike a great symbiosis which really is difficult to pull off I say good for you sir The whole thing was a pleasure to watch Comment from : @McGarnagle |
Jaws is AWESOME, and has little to do with SharksbrRichard Dreyfus was so convinced it would be a total bomb he apologized for it before it came out, but like masters before him, Beethoven for example with people mocking parts of Ode to Joy, once put together was a masterpiece, for the greats can see the entire picture on a different plane than we can Comment from : @reformedrevival2883 |
bruce was the best looking shark, cgi or not, until the shallows, shark in that film is phenomenal Comment from : @jordanfournier4366 |
I know i have my fave scene in the movie The movie is"enjoyable scary and i 💘 it especially with coffee Also 💘 the actors and Ellen to Comment from : @nategreen2670 |

whoa whoa whoa, Quint didn't know Hopper was that hands on! Don't blame Quint, he is amazing, actor and all RIP Quint, they couldn't have done it without you Your story will live on Comment from : @carmcakes1687 |
"Believable"-ish, really It might look better than SOME CGI stuff, yet it looks really fake ^^' Comment from : @Myrblyl |
The believability was there in 1975 because Occasional Jacques Cousteau docus were almost the only way we knew anything about sharks and my dad hogged our 1 TV set not to watch educational TV No one knew enough to doubt The behavior of the shark or the air tank explosion I can’t watch anything now without saying, “that would never happen” Comment from : @keouine |
All the attack scenes are truly disturbing and violent The woman being violently jerk around in the opening sequence (her screams are haunting) the kid with all that gushing blood, the teacher and the way he screams, Quint etc Comment from : @patrickstevenson9775 |
Yeah it may look little clunky to some (not to me though) although so little of it is actually seen but this animatronic has a menacing and evil disturbing look that could not be recreated on CGI Every time it appears on screen it's scary! Comment from : @patrickstevenson9775 |
HD nowadays has make the shark even better cause can se more details in the textures, so "bruce was actually " well made Comment from : @danielgrimes8312 |
Some time I throw ideas some times I throw burps [burps] Comment from : @edeljohnmarkbayanid5251 |
Originally, Liberace was cast to play Quint in JAWS Comment from : @secondchance1503 |
842 comments, cool Anyways Gets better as it goes Comment from : @Т1000-м1и |
24:56 that is not an air tankI believe it was used to measure the bight pressure Comment from : @JohnAnderson42 |
It’s hard to not to watch it again Even though you already know how it ends Comment from : @troycharlie1852 |
Still the BEST movie of ALL TIME in my book!!!!! Comment from : @NYGOLD |
This is the best character analysis of this movie I have ever heard Comment from : @stevensimonelli5172 |
this is great :-) Comment from : @chrisnorth4320 |
okay but it’s not believable bc a shark wouldn’t actually keep the air tank in its mouth he’s cap bc u can capture submissive viewers into letting it go, but u can’t when i have the internet and can just look it up no matter how hard i am reeled in to a film i can always spot the cap! Comment from : @markusrussell1779 |
Excellent programmeI really enjoyed that from start to finishVery well put together Well worth a watch - even for non-fans of the movie Thanks a lot! Comment from : @mivsenowner |
I saw this as an 8 year old with my dad The bit when Ben Gardiners head rolled into the hull of the boat had the whole cinema screaming Comment from : @rangerwhite5165 |
