so i liked everything about your video execpt for the "have your parents watch over your account" the reason is that i did (and currently do) have my savings account like that the problem was is that i could not see how much money was in there/not in there so it was basically invisible money to me in the course of 2 yrs, i drained my savings account down from almost $2,000 to under $1,000 i did put a little money in there here and there, but when i was taking out $400 chunks (for trips that i was going on) it really didn't matter

Honestly having the mindset that you saving account doesn’t exist is so helpful! I don’t have a card for my savings account only my spending account, so if I have a moment of I want to spend this, but I need to use money from savings account going through the whole transfer phase gives me chance to think about if I really need to spend the money and I never actually have :)

I applied for a job a little before my 15th which is the legal age for me to get a job and I got the job offer on my birthday, definitely be prepared to get one, make a list of places you want to apply to, and I say just be friendly and bubbly during the interview usually they will see this and know that you will be good for customer service, I got told at the end of the interview that I got the job, and I assume it was because of my friendlyness

hello people in the comments! i would like to share a bit so you guys can keep me accountablebrbri am 13 years old i have a trip to washington dc, new york, and gettysburg this coming spring (march 2021) it costs around 4000 dollars i only need 600 more to reach my goal! i have sold paintings, picked up dog poop, cleaned out cars, pulled weeds, and lots of other stuff i do not have a phone (i know, shocker) because my parents say that i have to pay for it totally on my own i have felt like an outsider for most of my time as a teen and as a pre-teen i am almost 14 which means in my area i can get a part time job after my trip is paid for, i am going to continue to earn money until i get a job, and hopefully still do outside jobs i am doing online school as well, with a school provided computer, however, that means its not personal and i cant make it my own and all that plus it kinda sucks SOi am going to save to buy a phone and a mac both from apple for the phone, i need to earn around $700, and for the computer, about $900 so please, PLEASE please please PLEEAASE someone keep me accountable and like, make sure im earning and saving and like ask me what i did to earn money this monthplease just give me this loljust check in a few times a month or something blow up my youtube notifications! lol whatever you can please thank you have a great day and take care of yourselfbr-alayna :)

If you can’t work a job:brOpen up an Etsy shopbrResell things on eBay from thrift storesbrIf you’re an artist of any kind, sell your craftbrAsk your parents to use their PayPal or Bank account so you won’t get in trouble with the law or anything brI resold some of my old phones and made around 200$, I know it doesn’t sound like a huge amount of money but it’s atleast something brAlso take the old phones from people if they don’t want them anymore and not interested in reselling, usually you can get a good amount of money out of them

Heads up be careful about trusting your parents with your money When i was 9 i had a b-day party and got 250$ worth of gifts My mum told me that she should keep it and i could get it off her later A week later i asked for them cause i was going to the movies SHE USED THEM FOR GROCERIES she ended up only paying me back 100$ 😭😭😭
