I live in Michigan and they are 10¢ each, but there are no redemption centers You return them to grocery stores Most stores have a $25 daily limit You can easily get over a thousand after a football game, but you have to clean them before returning them and you have to return 1000 over 4 days or go to 4 stores

The downside to the 5 cent deposit is that the barcode on the can has to be readable, meaning you can't crush it This makes the bags that hold them huge and unwieldy Other states crush them and save so much space

I don't understand the disrespect I like so many others have meaningless employment These people take a valuable finite resource sensely thrown away by others so that it can contribute to an increased supply of that finite resource Not only are they performing for the good of the environment but may actually collectively reduce the cost to business who manufacture using this resource Having a job that makes you both an environmentalist and decent capitalist is not a bad position to have at all; in fact it is a meaningful one Thank you to you all

I drink a lot of beer and had been throwing the bottles in the garbage I just recently started cashing them in to add to the dividend stocks I buy along with the spare change I have everyday I'm thinking about it as I'm putting 10 cents to work for me its not much but 10 - 20 years in the future I'll be glad I did this

I have a friend in nyc who give a dollar or a few bucks to canners whenever he can especially on cold winter days or hot humid summer days It’s not much but it helps reduce their work by half hour or an hour in the extreme weather in nyc I would encourage people who live in walking cities to do the same

Like collecting cans, too I do this while car traveling during my holidays to feed my car ;-) Left over money I donate to my local animal shelter Find a lot of cans on highway rest stops, there is low competition compared to cities In my area all plasic bottles and aluminium cans with a special deposid symbol can be refunded and there are refund machines in all grocery stores Refund can be from 2 cent to 25 cent Bless you, stay safe and greetings from Germany
