I own a recycling company and I make about $200 a week off of cans and bottles its not hard when you see how many people just throw them away

You would make alot more, if y crush those aluminum sida cansbrbrIt will allow you put more cans in those big bags and make each bags heavier which will give you a better payoutbrbrI used to recycle aluminum cans, we would crush them and take to recycle center for paymentbrbrCrush can standing up (vertical, bag will weigh more per lb)brbrDon't lay cans on side and flattened, will make bags per lb lighter and take twice as much to fill bag all way upbrbrIt's a dirty job, but somebody has to help Planet 🌏 to stay clean, have fun, and get compensated for doing it

You're just getting the extra 005/010 cents extra they charge you when you purchase whatever was in the containers 🤷br So you're not actually "making money" you're just getting it backbr unless you're grabbing up cans, bottles from other places, which you never spent that extra money forbr and, as long as you're obtaining them legally you're finebr Like, you can't just go around grabbing them from people's recycling binsbrbr And in many states, you have to return these cans/bottles to the specific store they were purchased from,br They won't take any from other storesbr When you go to a recycling center, you won't get as much as they go by lbs not each individual can/bottle

How long did it take for you to find those cans did you find them did someone give them to you how much did you pay for those plastic bags how much gas did you use to transport it to the recycling center You have to take that into account so yes you made $40 what was the profit Now if someone transported it for you you didn't have to do gas if someone gave you those bags you don't have to pay for For you it was probably pure profit 100 but not for everybody that's nothing if you had to put that back for gas

Also cali has a plastic bag and bottle tax that you have to pay every time you get groceries or get bottled water It’s about $050 that they tax you so you would be making some money back if you do this but you probably won’t get as much

Here in California you can find coupons for some recycling center you can double your profit you can turn $40 in recyclable into $60-$80

I live in Oklahoma but manage to do this by taking my aluminum cans to a scrap metal shop and melting my tin cans into plates and taking them to a scrap metal shop Pays less, but still a decent way to make money Basically there are 32 cans in a pound and they pay me 063/lbs so an awful lot less but it works ig
