Personally, I take my cans in; the aluminum is contaminated with paint I have hoards of clean, unpainted, aluminum Dollar wise, I think 2250 worth of cans, plus gas and time, is not worth it

Nothing aluminum nowadays is made of pure aluminum, not cans not foil and NOT even most wire If you mean unalloyed aluminum that’s one thing (and you can’t get it by just deslagging) but pure aluminum is VERY rare and worth a good deal more than the (s)crap you melt and “flux” out the impurities

Basically it would double or more the price i could get for scrap price even if i just sold it to the scrap yard Cans are 39 cents a pound, pure blocks of aluminum are 89cents a pound, one could sell on ebay or amazon for 2 to 3 dollars a pound I flatten mine more than he does Could put at least 2 times what he gets in the crucible One question, is that a home made kit?

Can you sell the aluminum blocks you make from melting aluminum cans as you show in your video? If so, how much do you get and that would be the answer to "is it worth it?" I would not include the cost of obtaining the empty cans since I use the product inside and will buy them anyway So the cost to me would be the fuel, containers and tools needed to melt them versus the amount I could expect from selling the final product

The way you're melting your cans is better than what other people are doing (since at least they're crushed) but it's still really bad You're surely losing a ton of aluminium to oxidation, and you have to add the cans individually which takes agesbrWith $30 you could buy a hydraulic car jack, some tubing to make a frame and press, and press them properly in just a couple seconds

Be very careful melting cans before you make sure your scrapyard will buy ingots or slabs Most don't buy them since they are not sure of the content For every honest person there are those who melt lead or whatever into the aluminum
