What Dr Amen says about be present and talk less as a parent really resonate with me I'm a mother of a now 16 year old boy He often said to me that I talked too much I'm aware of it now and will try to change that I also try to be more in the moment Because usually I'm thinking of so many other things when I'm interacting with him 🙏❤

im an expecting father and i do like the idea of "questions" i'm a naturally curious guy, a life long learner, and i would for my daughter to always be asking questions and take after me in that and the "no questions" part is weird to me though i get it but i feel like that comes naturally in a relationship If we're having a good time or even just talking question only come when needed

Even though my parents did most of the things that were listed in the not supposed to do area, I will break this cycle of negligence 💪 Hopefully future parents will educate themselves towards child psychology like am I and the coming generation will be emotionally stronger ❤️

Jay shetty please call a child expert and please talk about bullying in schoolmy 5 yr old kid was bullied,beaten by 2 other girls the same age,only cctv footage saved us otherwise no1 would trust 5 yr olds ganging up and beating another so "good friend"how do we teach our kid to be strong mentally,resilient and to answer back to these bullies instead of running to the teacher all the time for helpwe were so affected by the whole episode,she seems fine but I just hope it doesn't leave any trauma in her mind later on

I never understood the parents that walk around after their kids trying to feed them Thank God I didn’t have to do this with any of my kids I didn’t mind having to feed them while sitting next to them obviously but there are parents who will literally walk around after their kids and mouth feed them while their kids roam around playing loll this is always something I told myself I would never do I don’t believe in it…

I grew up in a family with so many siblings, not enough time, and we struggled to survive I knew that I couldn't rely on my parents for things I want in life I knew everything was based on me, and started to dream, become resilient,go getter, very positive Today after all my accomplishments, I really appreciate my parents for who I'm today

I had kind of the same childhood, I worked, I bought my first cellphone at the age of 11 Parents didn’t solve all my problems, I did my homework myself, entered the university myself And I must say that at the age of 25 I was very tired of life When other people had a chance to receive something from their parents I needed to work for everything I felt like I lived 45 years not 25 Now I am 30 and things weren’t that easy for me, I made some achievements but not a company, agency or smth My friends whose parents were bringing them food to school are doing pretty good with the help of their parents

See there is a balance to raising kids I grew the way he described, my parents gave me space to figure things out It has its benefits , but it also has its downsides My pops didn't really teach me how to be a man, but I was looking for guidence So, I turned to the wrong ppl at times and it lead me down a dark path Doing stuff that could have had me locked up The old school way made me tough, but it definitely ain't make me kind I had to learn that later on my own as an adult All I know is you should let kids learn some things on their own and somethings you have to teach them You do have to take moments to drop jewels The thing is if you do it in the right way and at the right time, kids are all ears
