I don’t see much info on how to plan with inflation I can plan on having so much saved now But in three years after a couple raises and things have gotten more expensive now I need to save more than previously Seems like there is to many variables to actually plan anything I can plan on having 700,000 by 2070 And stick to it and by 2070 a stick of butter costs 6 grand

Be aware some employers only match your base salary into your 401k If you work any OT, your contribution percentage will be taken from your paycheck, but the employer won't match the overtime Some employers also wait until the end of the year to make the entire year's contribution at the end of the year Not when your contribution is deducted from your paycheck

It's not completely your fault if you don't have enough saved for retirement and still relatively young In case this wasn't already mentioned in the video, people currently in their 30s are less well off than their parents were at the same age This is projected to continue being the case as they get older due to inflation and getting priced out of being able to afford assets
