Thanks for the information, but at 23 you said "catches fire" You know that is not true, but the trolls love this information Fusion, as you know, is not fire Fire always requires an oxidizer Comment from : @LizBrowne-do2li |

Could it be possible that this time T CrB ends up in a supernova type 1a instead of a nova? Comment from : @markuskohlmann4974 |

NASA & CIA will stop at nothing to hide the fact our sun novas every 12K to 15K years It's the easiest way to ensure a mass population reduction See Doug Vogt Video Series 4 The Greatest Secret of the United States Comment from : @kellyschlumberger1030 |

This man is one of a few here on youtube who seems to actually know what he's talking about , i've never seen any channel that understand what type 1a supernovae are except this channel Comment from : @comrad011 |
Having done tons of research into my own name over the years, I'd love to see someone do a video on the different types of nova out there I strongly prefer the type that occurs in a binary system between a white dwarf a a planet in which the star can only take so much crap from the planet before it explodes, lol, but that's just me :) Comment from : @TheRealNova99 |
Good morning Fraser, brbrAll it took was this video (EXCELLENT!!!) for me to become a subscriber I looks as if your other videos are terrific as wellbrLooking forward to viewing them allbrbrAll the very best to your and yours, brbrTerry Comment from : @terencedebruycker3840 |
All these years later I finally find what a base nova is It’s so weird how hard this used to be to find I’d get supernovas, hypernovas even, nothing about simple “nova” to give context to what those prefixes connect to Comment from : @corrinflakes9659 |

I decided to name my cat Nova after watching this Comment from : @xDodgerBlue82x |

Thanks for covering this topic, Fraser! I feel like I tend to have a decent mental grasp on supernova and type 1a supernova, but hadn't really had a chance to get up to speed on a regular nova I'm also curious about kilanovae and hypernovae Do you have a video on those I could watch? I'm afraid YouTube's algorithms only pointed me back to this video, likely due to the prominence of the word supernova Comment from : @Josh-ify |
HAS ANYONE NOTICED THAT NO ONE EVER USES NOVA ANYMORE ITS ALWAYS SUPERNOVA NOW Comment from : @davidt8087 |

If a type 1a supernova is a white dwarf that sucks in too much matter from a neighboring star that causes it to go boom, what type of supernova would Betelgeuse be when it goes up? Comment from : @keithyakouboff8755 |

I was looking for footage on what novas look like There are very nice pictures here It is nice to learn more about how Novas work That is interesting how you say we should change the terminology I sometimes think about this It is nice to know I am not alone There are few new words I have that deal with space One thing is different planet names Most planets are named after Olympian Roman deities That is really cool However there are two that are named after older deities I find that so odd There are more Olympians, hich haven't been used yet So I like to go with them, and link them to fitting planets I change the name of Saturn to Juno I also change the name of Uranus to Minerva Juno is important as the queen of the deities So it is unfair that she doesn't get her own planet Now that I think of it, there is a benefit to naming a planet Minerva People can't make immature jokes about it I do see that this video deals with astronomy, the science of stars Astrology is a similar word I find it to be rather confusing It is not science, but it end in logy like many sciences I would like to name it astromancy It is still similar, but it is a lot less confusing Astro still means star The mancy suffix means prophecy So astromancy is a fitting name for the magical practice of predicting the future in the stars Comment from : @cddailey8013 |

NASA’s APOD 2018-03-25 i(»Announcing Nova Carinae 2018«)/i sent me here (link was near »…is typically caused by a…«), and I agree: some astronomical items of nomenclature are unfortunate brMy pet peeve: planetary nebulae, o boy Cheers! Comment from : @dipi71 |

Hi Fraser, topic suggestion: inflation at the early stage of the Universe Do we have direct observations that support it or so far it is still an delad-hoc/del answer to solve the puzzle of cosmology? Thanks for your videos Comment from : @lorenzobernacchioni |

I think a Magnetar would be an interesting subject And maybe how one could extract energy from its super-strong magnetic field Comment from : @Unther |

So every nova in the universe is half of a binary pair? Or is there another type of nova like there are other types of supernova? Comment from : @krissisk4163 |
I would love to hear your thoughts on the WR 104 system found in Sagittarius Other wise described as the "pinwheel" system Astronomers say its like looking down the barrel of a gun because one day the pair could merge and given their geometry could blast earth with a deadly gamma ray burst Also one of the stars in the pair is classified as a "wolf-rayet" star and is described as highly unstable Would love to learn more I find this system facininating Comment from : @mattforbes7833 |
I like your work a lot and your podcasts too Just gotta say too, your backgrounds are always brilliant This one is my favorite It was interesting learning you dont get thunderstorms! Coming from Jamaica thunder of Thor is the norm! Comment from : @Flip_Angle |

will we be able to survive long space travel? I know that we can clone people, but since we rely on the thousands of minute concentrations of specific bacteria in our gut microbiota, won't we also have to clone all the thousands of species of bacteria in our gut? Comment from : @mansertwo |
What would happend to a Neutron star if it steals enough hydrogen from a companion? I mean I know it would go supernova on its companion but would it turn into a black hole afterwards or just blow up like a type IA ? Comment from : @mitin0806 |

What is your understanding of the concept of time? Is it a man made construct? Or is it intrinsically linked to the cosmos? Comment from : @brocpage4204 |
No dislikes! What a nice crowd Comment from : @tankunext81 |
Hi Fraser, you know that stars are formed in nebulas Like the pillars of creation but what if in the future these nebulas run out of resources that means that new stars cant be formed right? but what would happen to the 'dust' from death stars, wouldnt the dust just pile up and form a new nebula? Comment from : @gertinoss |
well winters almost here and I see orion still has betelguise hope to see it light upthis year anyyear now🤔💣💥 Comment from : @userwl2850 |

I had a Chevy Nova, that thing used to detonate into spectacular flames too Comment from : @herculesrockefeller2984 |

Could two celestial bodies orbit so close to eachother that they share a common atmosphere? I guess it would be prevented by the roche limit Comment from : @googleeatsdicks |
You forgot about my favourite NovasChevy Nova and Nova Scotia !!! Comment from : @MLLloyd |
how big can a star get? is there a limit before there's too much mass and what would be a proto-star becomes a super nova? Comment from : @davidshafer1872 |
Stellar Thievery! Comment from : @topazmoon1191 |

Just out of curiosity, could stars fission or does fission happen is stars alongside fusion? Comment from : @vonderbeard1292 |

Momentarily brightens up to death I love it, you should put that on a shirt! Comment from : @vonderbeard1292 |
Another interesting video Fraser!! Love it Comment from : @beaverbmx31 |
I think that novas should be called luminas So they would be luminas and super luminas Comment from : @Wisdom4life1 |
Type 1A supernovae can also be caused by merging white dwarfs! Comment from : @milky_wayan |
Great! Comment from : @chicagopianou86 |
Is there a limit to the mass that a black hole can have? That would be an interesting topic for a video Comment from : @nadie9622 |
Do you think you can gather enough material to make a video about the Quasi-Stars? Comment from : @torenico |
