So based on a sample size of 1 I sent in an 1844-D $5 into PCGS that looked similar Dealer who I submitted through was sure it would come back cleaned Came back straight grade XF-45 My dealer said they are pretty easy on early Southern gold

Wow those early C and D coins are amazing! I love reading about those mints and wish they were still here today It's interesting that before the 1849 CA gold rush it happened in NC and GA, thus those two mints I need to add one of these one day Thanks for sharing Ben!

Ben it’s worth mentioning those NNC slabs come apart so easily without damaging the plastic rendering the slab useless as there’s zero securitybrThere is nothing to say the coin in the holder now is the same that was in their when they originally slabbed itbrOr that it hasn’t been changed out multiple times I bought a Morgan is one 6-7 mo ago b-c I liked the coin brJust take a butter knife or a screw driver or if you got fingernails, you can very easily pry open the slab, take the coin out, and put the slab right back together againbrLike opening a Tupperware container

Nnc is far from the worst tpgc , but they don't hit the mark regularly from what I see The main problem with putting toget a third party graders catalog I am working on slowly is having to get multiple pieces of each kind to get a true feel for their work so occasionally I have to buy crap on purpose Nnc isn't crap But they are tier 2 at the bottom or tier three brTier 4 is avoid at all costs like inb The best you will find is maybe a Lincoln cent I have one that's a real 2009 cent Inb slabs everything though Coins, minerals , meteorite pieces, gemstonescome to think of it ,I have not yet seen inb sports cards

A video that’s way overdue on NNCbrThey always way overgrade, place many details coins in there holders, and even doctor coins with artificial color However if you stick to the lower value common date stuff you can find the occasional good coin and price so I don’t completely overlook them

I have seen nnc holders around, but not many and I tend to avoid off brand stuff like the plague, I'd far and away rather have the coins be raw It's always nice to see old gold with the D and C mint marks, though Thank!

Enjoy the early gold coins Trying to get a denomination set together Have a 1, 25, and 5 dollar coin so far Just have to sell a child to get the 3, 10, and 20 dollar pieces!
