I have retired a couple of times Never really by choice In my 74 years, I had careers that each lasted lasted about 8years For most, image was important, but a saying I picked up from a successful retiee was" I no longer spend money I don't have to buy things I don't need to impress people I don't care about brIf there is something I want, I check used before buying new A good resale thrift store often has far higher quality clothing than I could afford to purchase new

I really like the tips, and after finishing watching the video I can even say that I already do a lot of the same things and rules 😊 sadly there are a lot of them too that depends on my work and health issues so I cannot put into practice, such as stationary and electronics (they get so used that they stop working) or out of season traveling, my only breaks are during high season sadly, my health also makes me spend quite a lot on medication that’s not covered 😢 btw, loved that you came to Madrid!❤ brmy tip for avoiding impulsive purchases: leaving my credit card at home when meeting friends for coffee or lunch and carrying only cash 😊 that way, even if we are browsing things I do not buy it and have time to think if I really want it or it’s necessary

Hey Portugal here, I like to see a lot of minimal style videos, but when I want to start the processe I always feel stressed, because I think that I'm not doing well or if I see something that I want and I dont buy it I cant stop thinking about it brThats a lot of things that I no longer buy untill the items that I have dont have anymore product for exemple makeup and shampoos, lotion, etc but in clothes and shoes and bags, games and books, thats another story br😭😭 I really want to be more minimalist but I struggle in that area Do you have any tips for me? thank you :D

Comment from : @RowAndRest

@rexsdogpuzzles6360
That's all great but life is short so instead of all these cut backs depriving yourself of nice things what is your ultimate goal for it all? Do you put it towards your mortgage, a nice holiday like what's the incentive of doing this?
Comment from : @rexsdogpuzzles6360

@CyndiR-z3i
Teach yourself to make your favourite takeaway cheats, make wraps, pasta or simple rice dishes and quick soups with leftover veggies or frozen veggies which is way faster than ordering any takeaway and so much cheaper & healthier! Experiment with tinned beans, tinned tomatoes, chickpeas, dried herbs lentils, stock cubes etc My favourite is minestrone soup which I can store in my fridge for 3 days if I make a big pot full Use any meal leftovers you may have for wrap fillings Just add some grated cheese, lettuce or mayo/saucesbrFresh herbs are expensive so I grow my own in pots and use them for cooking but also for making tea Mint or lemon balm teas are my favourites They are easy to grow and I dry out the leaves for the winter timebrI grow my own bean sprouts in glass jars to sprinkle over soups or add to stir fry’s, sandwiches and also in wraps Perfect if you don’t have a soil garden or during winter when your outdoor garden is no longer productive

@stinaljungstrom8691
Great video!brIf I colour my hair I normally clean the bathroom tile, and other things in the bathroom, while it's in my hair The water cost is not the big thing for me, but I found waiting time is great to spend on something that needs to be done Like taking the dishes out of the dishwasher while I cook water for the coffe Those small time limited cleaning is great You can do much more than you think, even in a minute or two
Comment from : @stinaljungstrom8691

@user-nm6dr4uy3d
I watched this video while repairing an old cashmere jumper that had a hole in it Now it's as good as new ✨ There's something so satisfying about taking care of good old things that you know will last
Comment from : @user-nm6dr4uy3d

@user-nm6dr4uy3d
I feel like nowadays , we tend to have an inflated idea of what we're supposed to be able to afford on an average salary Especially with prices going up, it's normal that we can't buy whatever we want whenever we want Unless you're rich, you generally have to fight your cravings and wait a while before making an informed decision Social media churns out unrealistic ideas and dreams of this inflated consumerist lifestyle No wonder it feels like you're not doing well financially unless you're able to afford anything you want whenever you want it
Comment from : @user-nm6dr4uy3d

Going to the store every four days? I never could! We go to the store once a week and the grocery list contains three different meals for the week Two of them are easy, quick, low maintenance meals and one requires longer time to make and also tastes better😅 Best way to save time is that you make lots of food at once so you don't have to cook every day
