Eagles are too popular for their own good meaning most sellers want ridiculous premium over gold value I now am buying Sovereigns and half sovereigns for fractional purchases as I can find them with no or very low premium if I look Very liguid but better buys

I like my mix of newer fractional Eagles and pre-33 gold and 90 Constitutional, all of which I bought slightly over melt I got rid of most of my foreign stuff, except for some tenth ounce gold Maples which are beautiful 24K little gems Peace and Morgan dollars are the exception, but I love those too!

I'm quite fond of both Eagles and Buffalos and have roughly an equal number of both I think they both look great in their own way However I've found that the gold Buffalo is like a cold pat of butter--way too easy to scratch and dent Also, I think that many new stackers don't fully understand that BOTH Eagles and Buffalos contain one full ounce of pure 24K gold The only difference is that, besides the ounce of 24K gold, the Eagles have almost a full ounce (009 ozt) of a silver/copper alloy b*added*/b to the gold to greatly increase the durability of the coin thereby bringing the rating of the whole coin down a bit to 22K (even though that full ounce of pure gold is still there)

Gold is not soft, its hard as some forms concrete but way more malleable and ductile Silver, gold and copper are diamagnetic as wellbrbrAnyways I do like AGE's but I wished the us mint still made quarter eagles($250 gold coin) I need to save up for a double eagle or a Mexican 50 gold pesos

I'm with ya They're one of my favorites, especially the type 1 design I'm working on filling up a fractional tube of eagles, half of it being quarters and the other half being tenths Just about done filling it but been focusing more on silver this year brbrI like the fact you could take in 100 gold eagles and not be required to fill out a tax form I know it's required to do but you don't have to right there in the store That makes a serious impact on what I feel comfortable stacking a lot of brThat being said I don't plan on selling
