If I may ask for an answer, I see that you have a lot of different and relatively older coins, and they all seem to be preserved I am interested in the maintenance method, what if white or yellow spots appear, is the storage method important and do you clean it if it appears? 1 Canadian Maples 100 - still less than Silver Eagles to buy, better security features (including a laser mark) , 9999 pure vs 999 Eagles, and have MINTSHIELD to prevent any milk spotting Finally, have a Royal sovereign's image on the reverse which is globally more recognized outside the ole USA Comment from : @rmarshall6747 |

It's been ages since I bought any silver, I used to get old sterling silverware It was all for casting and it was the cheapest form of silver that was reliably sterling If I bought enough of it I could get it for below spot in those days The coin store made more selling it to me than they could get selling it to a refiner, and it was of course a lot cheaper for me than buying sterling casting grain from a place like Swest or TSI (both of those companies are long gone now) I made silver jewelry and put myself through school with it Best way to invest in silver I ever found ;) Comment from : @xlerb2286 |

I am fortunate enough to have a LCS that will sell off-quality American Silver Eagles at the same price as one ounce silver rounds I usually buy every one in the tray Today when silver was between $28 and $29, I bought thirteen ASE’s at $30 each (plus CA tax 😩) Yeah they’re off-quality, but still can’t beat that price IMO Comment from : @830pc209 |

I have about $3500 face value American silver coins that I've had since the 1970sbrbrWhile silver prices change significantly, it would be useful to have a list of common items that are purchased and a fair silver coin price to make those purchasesbrbrFor example, circa 1972, a gallon of gasoline cost about $30 Wouldn't that imply that a reasonable price for a gallon of gas today would be three silver dimes?brbrA list of such transactions would be useful to have, and they could be updated to reflect varying silver prices brbrBut such a list would make bartering with silver coins a lot easier, I suggestbrbrPerhaps such lists are availabole some place? First, constitutional silver Second, generic 1oz rounds and bars that seem likely to be recognizable Third, 1 oz silver eagles After that, hmmm… I guess 1oz sovereign coins would be next but I just don’t invest in foreign coins I try to cover all three scenarios: normal investment, hyperinflation, and apocalyptic Comment from : @AnonYmous-fv1de |

IF you stack in case the SHTF, I think generic rounds and bars are your best bet The premiums are very low If you need to use silver to buy anything, Eagles and other premium coins will never get you back your premium Silver will be silver Companies and people who will take silver to buy necessary goods, wouldn't care less whether or not you have an Eagle or a generic round To them, all that will matter is how much silver it contains I also think "junk silver" is a good thing to have as well The premiums are low right now The strategy I laid out is only if the dollar plummets or the SHTF I have a feeling the drop of the dollar may not be very far away Happy stacking!
