My main reason for moving is to get away from Chicago area taxes $9,400/YR for 3b 2 1/2 ba 2c gar, quarter acre Going to Guntersville, Alabama for fishing, weather and great outdoors I'll save $7,500 in taxes I'll help keep Illinois first in people leaving ahead of New Jersey Retired, no bills, house paid, single with 2 boats Instead of 12 inches of ice on lake, I'd be fishing for crappie

iPhone 35 houses I can assure you it’s worked out for me even though it’s the markets good and there’s a lot of appreciation there’s always another place that’s undervalued Once you make the money once your money doubles It doesn’t do any good to sit there and continue to own it cause it’s not gonna double againsitting there and owning a house It’s already sorted 200 is a mistake It won’t happen again next year the year after

My husband and I own a 120 year old home that we have renovated ourselves It is 4400 sq ft and has many more needed repairs to go We will probably be working on it and maintaining it for our entire lives We are in our 50’s and thinking of moving to a smaller home But I’m so emotionally attached to it It is beautiful and paid for However so impractical What advice would you give in this situation?

I think my realtor didn’t guide us enough I hate how my house looks listed Pillows look like their hanging off of the bed, a rug was curling up, uggh had to drop price several times because feedback is always not updated We have had SO MANY showings which I guess is good but offers were always low I mean the realtor should’ve advised NOT pricing so high Now I just wanna sell it

Audra My concept to sell or not to sell is exclusively based on risk to reward comparison Total costs in and out are around 10 A $600k house runs $60,000 fees and expenses Sp500 index has essentially no fees and expenses Same with commodity like Gold Same with dividends Real estate is not liquid but stocks and commodities are liquid Appreciation in sp500 and gold are running 25 plus As you can see, we now own 3 houses, gold, and sp500 index funds called SPY In a year we will be selling two of those houses Our dividend portfolio runs 10 yield Instead of paying property taxes, insurances, and monthly operating expenses, our plan is to cash income monthly checks It is a simple plan- houses are a liability by definition Checks coming in are assets Checks going out are liabilities Do you not agree?

We built our home to our specifications We refinanced at a really low rate Not moving The only way to get me out of my house is I will be going to hospice or the coffin BTW every time you do and improvement/maintenance keep the receipts If you sell and make a profit all the receipts you have been keeping will lessen your taxes on the “earned income”
