20 hours isnt alot but majority of people who try to learn a new thing rarely spend even just 5-10 focused hours on trying This doesn’t mean 5-10 hours of proscratinating and “learning” but a cumulative 5-10 hours hours of absolute focus Comment from : @iamapat |

The thousand hours is necessary for 010 but you can sprint to the top 5 and go slow the rest of the way or go slow over 9000 hours and accelerate to the last bitbrbrI prefer 20 hours to get good fast instead of 9000 hours Comment from : @influentia1patterns |

I learned this from homeschooling I wanted to know how to play the guitar, so I taught myself I wanted to know Spanish (more than my 1 year of high school had taught), so I taught myself I wanted to learn how to cast and make silver jewelry, so I taught myself I needed to learn how to fix my family's home, so I taught myself I wanted to fix my car, so I taught myself I can perform every skill of the trade in construction to pass framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, insulation, etc inspection and I have worked for less than one week with another tradesman If there is something that you want to know, you can learn it That is why the elitism in understanding science, medicine, politics, etc is absolute garbage, because, while the field can be broad, the specifics to certain ideas are fairly narrow and can be understood quickly br However, the more you know, the more you realize that there are more connections to be made between different ideas, and the more you realize how much other knowledge is needed to apply what you have already learned In short, you can learn things quickly in a defined area, but the broader the area, the more additional knowledge is needed to fully understand the defined knowledge you are learning Comment from : @MyFortressConstruction |

How to watch a movie on Netflix:br1- Describe what you want from the movie
br2- Deconstruct the elements of your description (a certain actor, types of scenes)br3- Research 3 to 4 resources or videos on youtube; ie, "movies with (desired actor/actress)" or "movies with (type of scene)"
br4- Remove barriers to watching (avoid watching more videos or reading too many reviews, silence your phone's notifications, etc)br5- Pre commit to 2 hours of watchingbrbrJust pick and watch the dang movie, steps 1-5 should take between 3 to 8 minutes Comment from : @judgedredd31 |

I disagree You don't become "very very good" at chess or guitar for example after 20 hours at all no matter the method, sorry Much better than not practicing at all but you will still be at a beginner level Playing 4 chord songs with one strumming pattern is very basic, far from very very good After only 20 hours you will lose 100 of games against someone who is actually a good chess player Comment from : @MrBrotkrumen |

While there is a lot of good advice in here I am just so tired of all videos like this claiming "You will be 10 times as smart after reading this" or similarbrNo, you will not be an expert with just 20 hours of practice Absolutely notbrUnless you pratice some very minor subskill that isbrYou will not be an nobel price class physicist in 20 hours You will not even be close to an expertbrYou might be able to learn some very basic introductory concepts in that time brbrJust be honest and don't promise too much that is cleary not truebrThis takes away quite a lot from the credibility in otherwise good content Comment from : @TheIllerX |
