 There isn't a YouTube Video out there that gets the explanation and calculation of the Supplement correct It is NOT the SS Benefit at age 62 It is ONLY Government EARNINGS !! So those summer jobs or contractor jobs before you got hired into the Gov't are not used in the OPM calculations for the Supplement Second- Chapter 51 of the FERS and CSRS Handbook give the actual way the supplement is calculated Your lowest 5 of the earning years are dropped - and the divisor is NOT 35 to get the AIME , it is the summing of the indexed earnings (taking away the lowest 5) , divided by how many counts of earnings you summed up times 12 to get it monthly Has anyone that sees my comments, actually had their Supplement calculated by OPM and understand it All these financial advisors the I listen to , don't understand or have never heard of the Chapter 51 of the Handbooks Further the handbook discusses "deemed earnings" which is different that "earnings

 Huge benefit that nobody seems to know about I retired at 55 under VERA/VSIP in 2022 I just hit my MRA 566 and now I get an extra $2,559 per month That’s huge and I get it for 66 months until I turn age 62 Wow 🤩 And the Government shutdown(s) every year can’t touch this or my annuity FERS pension amount 🏆
