Hi dawn i was hoping for a wee bit advice from you please, I just bought the same pen after watching your video The 1st coin i done turned out not too bad But i just tried cleaning a george v penny and made a bit of a mess of it I was really gentle with the pen but the patina is coming off with the dirt I even scraped part of the date off I wasnt sure if i have to leave it for a while to dry out after digging it up or not Any advice would be much appreciated dawn Thanks Comment from : @Scottish_History_Hunter

I dug up a George the 3rd cartwheel penny the other day, Mainly smooth on both sides unfortunately! It has a bit of green crusting on the edge What’s best to remove that? Comment from : @Wiiggz

Hey girl, you really need a Dremel tool for all those coins The felt polishing bits are excellent for coins I've used them often with tremendous results Just make sure to use the slowest speed setting Our copper coins in Canada are more of a darkish red than green Curious as to whether honing wax sticks would work I have lots of it Off to try it outbrYup, honing wax works Also had an idea to try soaking a coin with a polident denture tablet Works great also Cleans the honing wax off in a jiffy The cruddy 1940 penny I just cleaned turned out to be a George Vl Canadian penny Bonus!
