Hello, I am french, also have a PhD in science fields but with NO debt I can t believe what i see, this is so shoking, her student loan should be her absolute priority!!!!! she is completly out of touch You can t spend money on yourself if you have debt! I can’t tell how someone should live but having no regard for her entire debt and no interest in paying it off is terrible On top of that, relying on boyfriend’s money to pay for food and groceries shows she doesn’t value money nor her BF I thought primary reason to work and earn money is to pay for your meal and a roof above your head She’s got that backwards! Dr Colman, allow me to start off by saying that you are absolutely stunning! As another woman of color (biracial), I am always inspired and motivated when seeing other women who look like me who are headed down straight paths You are clearly enjoying life and appear to be genuinely fulfilled Many people fail to remember that health is wealth too so while we may have our ducks in a row financially, we often (especially African Americans) disregard the importance of taking care of our bodies physically, mentally, and spiritually The only thing that I'd do differently if I were in your shoes is paying more toward your debts while still treating yourself It is definitely doable even if your secondary income stream doesn't return, yet even still, you are on the right track Last year the last few car payments that I made were around $1000 each because I wanted to be done with them that bad I was only required to pay $260 per month After that I had a small personal loan which I paid in full just a few months after having paid off the car Once that was over, it was smooth sailing because my only remaining debt is student loans I accomplished that last year while only earning a 55K salary as a single woman so I know you can do it too! Keep shining love!
