My only problem with information books is that I forget what I read in chapter 1, when I reach chapter 4 Also making notes makes reading unfun and takes way too much time to even finish one Comment from : @limitedwords9020 |

The book that makes you smarter is the good one that you encountered as a child, and it inspired you to pursue great things Of the books in the video, how many can be appreciated by a non-prodigy sixth-grader? Comment from : @OrdenJust |

The "T" person, I think the "M" is better Three depth areas with a long breadth area But most people should probably try for the "T" person I believe I have each book and we start reading them again with this knowledge Thanks, Stephen Comment from : @hippoAutwell |
I have all of these books in my library except for #2 I had a friend who had been Zig Ziglar's paper boy and was able to hear him several times with my friend who would get complementary tickets My #2 would be anything of his but "Born To Win" is in my library He also has lots of videos on YouTube so I listen when I am searching for a new topic for self studybrI would also add Goedel, Escher, Bach (GEB) - Hofsteader, Chaos: Making a New Science - James Gleick and Candide - Voltaire brFor those that think the Bible should be included for the "New Testament" read Bart Eherman also any classic book will have many good lines to quote As an Alternative "The Humanist Bible" does this for many secular sources in a sort of "Biblical" order The Open University Yale Course "The Jewish Old Testament" looks at it from a Literary viewpoint a good secular overview if you want to include it in your self guided study Comment from : @bookwizards |
I love finding more to read, some great back and forth in the comments too! 🙏 Comment from : @the_flushjackson |

It would be an intelligent move to drop the distracting music in the background Annoying, unnecessary, and making listening to your voice really hard Comment from : @robertk5441 |
Keep in mind though that Nietzsche says that philosophizing with a hammer does not just entail destroying ideas, but the hammer if employed properly can test the integrity of the idea, like a sculptor will test the integrity of a stone (my analogy, i think, not his) Comment from : @pavetheworldlovely |

Multiple intelligences was an education fad for a cup-a-coffee Research says no It is a confirmation bias problem Or a bad explanation for some observations Comment from : @charlesspringer4709 |
having a degree in psychology, albeit 45 yrs ago, I was taught that raw, natural intelligence is something innate, and that we're probably not going to increase an IQ much at allpersonally, IDKI do have a bias for Howard Gardner's multiple intelligence theorythat I can see Comment from : @johnmcleod8961 |
Love your suggestions I have an internal bias against Nietzche but I think your comment to explore even those you disagree with is valid I won’t start your list with that one, but I will take the plunge in time after the first two on the list I have felt for a few years like the world is moving so fast I’m not sure how to keep up and it occurs to me you may have hit the nail on the head with your basic premise Thank you for taking the time to put this video together Comment from : @sharksfan2011 |
You don't need that music It is distracting and makes it tougher to focus on what you are saying Comment from : @daljeetsidhu |

Awesome list ❤ Comment from : @shortstoriesapp |
What you're describing is not intelligence, but understanding - conceptual maturity You're being misguided by the idea of multiple intelligences Also: you interpret Nietzsche wrongly According to him, we need lies to protect ourselves from the truth, and not vice versa This is a classic case of a reader trying to make reasonable a philosophical BS that he was thought to venerate Other than that: good video Comment from : @ryam4632 |
I think that many of the great ancient writers and philosophers of Ancient Greece and Rome deserve a fair mention here Notably, Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, Cicero, Marcus Aurelius, Livy and so on William Shakespeare’s plays make for a great understanding of the human condition The Bible is invaluable in terms of helping to develop a great moral structure, there is a lot of terrific existential teachings in there The Art of War by General Sun Tzu teach many lessons that can apply in warfare, politics or business The great enlightenment thinkers like Locke, Voltaire, Rousseau, Descartes are are also invaluable Nicollo Machiavelli outlines the basis of political science and the dynamics of power, and also show how one can encounter some real moral pitfalls there The memoirs of Giacomo Casanova are a great insight into 18th century European society On American Democracy, the works of Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, John Stuart Mill and Alexis de Tocqueville are also great reads Comment from : @VideoHitz2023 |

In American schools, its the athletes who are most popular America is the 21st century Sparta As a warrior nation we like the tough guys However, in a world of high tech, the tough guys are losing their status to the intelligent guys Its the nerdy types who are now the most wealthy in the US In India and most of eastern Asia its the smart kids in the class who are the most popular, and they are challenging the US economically In the US we now have a big push for young men to be alpha males, but intelligence is winning the paycheck wars Intelligent people are outnumbered by the less intelligent meme followers These books can help people see the future, which is not wasting time with alpha male ideologies Efforts to be more intelligent across many fields of life, will serve humankind better and is more sustainable than who is the biggest ape in the forest Comment from : @obijuan3004 |

That Critical thinking book is AI generated… Comment from : @ckatheman |
Intelligence since it is largely biologically driven can only be marginally increased Less than one standard deviation Lots of research in improving IQ has been done starting and very early ages and while IQ did increase in the short term there were no long term increases The short term gains were eventually lost and IQ returned to its baseline level What a person can do is increase knowledge and wisdom Comment from : @TDL-xg5nn |

This was both beautiful and philosophical Comment from : @eduardox21 |
