I have a Boss Mk2 212 It's a fun toy Yeah it's kind of cool, but would I ever gig with it? one thing I realized from trying the tone master (sounds like the name of some exercise equipment) at guitar center I did the same thing as Dagan which was attenuate all the way down so I could dime the volume and get sweet break up It was so weak and people around me were either laughing or horrified as I cussed my way through a 5 minute temper tantrum/rant about how much I hate weak ass gen z digital amp modelling bsetc etc I combined a bunch of words with a bunch of attitude and not all of it made sense but just as I was about to end my tantrum by pulling the power cord without shutting it off(guitar center mic drop) I clicked the attenuator a couple clicks up to a slightly higher wattage and went from mid sentence loudly cussing straight to "OK, that sounds really good"!!! It's not a gradual change at all The lowest watt setting is like what helen keller would hear playing the guitar one or two clicks higher and there is a massive difference in tone and feel Dagan had the right idea but made the same mistake I did so that is why it did't sound so strong at the very end so def try one out before crossing it off your list Comment from : @carlhungus2521

The only thing I do not like about the VOX AC15 and the VOX AC30 With greenbacks these amps weigh 22kg and 32kg I know they have big transformers for their wattage but come on A Fender hot rod deluxe is a 40W amp and it weighs 186kg The Marshall origin 50C weighs 182kg but has a small magnet speaker Change the speaker to a Celestion Creamback 65 and the weight would be 193kg A weight like this would be better for the mighty VOX AC15 when lugging it around on one handle Don't get me started on the Vox AC30 onetwelve 245kg single 12" with a single handle on top Comment from : @andersbarfodsvaneskolan9378

The Boss Katana is sooooo impressive, I have the 50w MK1, got it new for £160 about 35-4 years back, such an impressive and versatile bit of kit!!! Absolutely brilliant, weighs nothing, can get loads of great tones out of it and it can keep up with a drum kit, it's crazy what Boss have done with that and I can only assume theyve made it better with the MK2 Comment from : @mikel4159

I'm about to start doing very mobile gigs with a pearl traveler setup Guitar is fender player and was wondering if a 1w tube amp is loud enough to keep up with the traveler drums? If not would a 5? Or a 10 I know my Marshall dslc40 on triode mode 20 watts I couldn't even turn past 4 outside with a band brbrWould 5 just be enough? For a small at home and the pub gigs amp may I suggest the Fender Super Champ x2! It’s only 22lbs, 15 watts tube amp with digital effects and inexpensive too! $299 used all day long! Boss katana artist 2 for modern amp It’s small but powerful but remember you have to buy a separate footpedal - which older models of combos used to include Fender champion / Mustang are also good but the mustang doesn’t have an effects loop brbrFor practice in and around a house if you don’t want to annoy the neighbors and it’s cheap is the black star ID cores or just get a Boss headset so you don’t need an amp and can enjoy the volume in your ears without annoying anyone brbrA good combo is simple , has a simple to use footpedal and has an effects loop / DI input for PA systems I understand why people buy valve amps as I had a JCM 900 once but valves are too temperamental if you are gigging a lot brbrI still use a fender stage 1600 - includes - three channels , effects loop input for pedal boards , 160 watts , Di input , and inbuilt tuner , timbre for different styles and effects unit Gigged with it for ten years and with regular service it’s ace Old but gold and lightweight !
