I'm studying Spanish, but also revisiting Latin I think there'll be a synergistic effect I'm starting on Anglo-Saxon, but I already know German so there will also be a synergistic effect Who knows, there might even be a synergistic effect with Latin and AS Although they're very different in vocabularies, they both have a challenging declension system so there might be some synergy in the shared grammar issues brbrPS I wonder which is easier-- learning two closely related languages or widely different like Robin's Chinese and German Would very different languages cause less interference than two closely related? Totally agree Tried learning 2 languages at a time many times, doesn't work You should focus on just one language at a time, unless one of your languages is at very high level (at least B2) and doesn't need much learning Comment from : @plrc4593

I like using a crutch system If you've seen Dali's paintings you'll get an idea What sentences you've learned in your main ( strongest language ) you can create in the next weaker language ie Spanish is my stronger so what I know in that ( short sample sentences ) I work on producing them in Italian , my weaker language It of course depends on how much time you have, I'm retired so I have more than working people I suppose Comment from : @solea59

I've been studying German on and off for 2 years now and I'm only at an A2 level I have severe adhd, 3 kids, I'm in school and my husband works 2 jobs so I'm the primary housekeeper as well I've also been learning ASL on and off for about 5 years but I just recently started studying that more seriously And to keep things interesting I've recently started learning Latin Now, I prioritize German and ASL (if I have time for only one on any given day I prioritize German) however I do sprinkle in some Latin at the end of the day if I've gotten my German and ASL studying in My reason for throwing Latin into the mix was to keep things interesting for myself and to keep language learning from being thrown on the backburner again I also would like to someday learn other romance languages, so I chose Latin because I'd like that as a foundation for those So, if I never become fluent in Latin, I'm ok with that (although I'd be ok with being fluent too 😂) because it's for fun and for the sake of learning Also, my German learning is also for fun I live in the prairies in Canada, so using German isn't exactly a necessity It's just something I love learning 😊 Comment from : @disorderlydame

Just recently turned 21, took Spanish for about 7 yrs in school After graduation I stopped using it as frequently and definitely lost some of the grammar structure but I can mostly understand the language! I picked up French since it’s so closely related about a yr and a half ago and just a few months ago I started learning Russian to challenge my understanding of language outside of the Latin alphabet brI plan on working on all the languages I study but hope to add more It is a little bit of a slower process but my brain doesn’t allow me to fixate on one easily, and I find my brain actually learns both languages better while I’m learning multiple at once (with consistency) Comment from : @Thugshaker_thequaker

Interesting video The reason that I looked this video up is that I've reached B2 / C1 in my target language after 4 years, and I'm going to try learning a third language in the second half of this year, while still continuing to work on my second language I want to dedicate an hour a day to the third language - that's going to be easier said, than done! conclusion : if you are beginner in one of two languages, it's better to dedicate your learning only for the one you have just started, because it will need more efforts, unless you have too much time (eg: 4 hours) for learning languages per daybrif you are intermediate or more at both languages, you can study them at the same time without problem Comment from : @mehdiazaz7669
