I only buy silver coins that are close to their melt value, and since i get it for silcer value, I also love to keep them clean Its amazing what some baking soda can do
Comment from : @theonlyjono

@chicolee1227
Honestly junk looks alot more beautiful when its clean you can clearly tell the difference between 90 and all the other modern coins when they are clean idk why people are against it
Comment from : @chicolee1227

@tomsrandomness
Sulphur is the smell lol
Comment from : @tomsrandomness

@phreak1118
Is the aluminum part of the chemical process or is it just for easy cleanup?
Comment from : @phreak1118

@martinphilip8998
I use a vibratory tumbler Clean and slick It’s your silver Do what you want with it If you buy constitutional silver, don’t think it’s never been picked over
Comment from : @martinphilip8998

Comment from : @katmandewtoolsngames3116

@daviddavey1727
Tarnished doesn’t bother me with Junk silver Actually gives it a little character
Comment from : @daviddavey1727

@redwolfmendoza
So simple, yet the results are pretty jaw dropping The key here is boiling water, baking soda and some gentle brushing (use a tooth brush) You're not going to ruin any coins, unless you brush the coins with sand paper or something stupid
Comment from : @redwolfmendoza

@PierredamienMaloba-ne3dy

Comment from : @handduggraverdronline

@carolinacoins

Comment from : @carolinacoins

@mstalcup
Dissolving salt and baking soda in boiling water will work even faster the aluminum is an essential component
Comment from : @mstalcup

@Jimmie_Tendies
why bother cleaning it if you only care about the silver value of the coin? you are wanting eye appeal on it thats caring a little more than the silver value just saying i have stacks i never touch cause its only silver and not worth the effort of cleaning
Comment from : @Jimmie_Tendies

I like my coins shiny and not dirty Thanks for reading and please reply if anyone knows Would help me a lot in this great hobby :)
Comment from : @Cambutalgirl

USE A LITTLE BRASS OR COPPER BRUSH ON ANY COIN AFTER 1964 - IT IS NOT A FAST JOB, BUT USE WHITE VINEGAR AND HOT WATER TO SOAK THEM FIRST
Comment from : @kenborgie1727

@Kevinbarnaclejones

Yes I hate hearing people saying that I shouldn’t clean my coins Hey guess what, it’s my coin and I would prefer to have an old coin shiny not grimy
Comment from : @bisehd

@winstonsmiths2449
Many vids show this technique and they are incorrect! You need to add salt ratio is about 1:15 baking soda to salt Hotter water is better I use an aluminum pan, set it directly on a oven burner and fill it with the dissolved powders When you rub, that will scratch your items and remove a tiny bit of the metal Some tarnish just will not come out but I would rub it with a soft cloth using the solution as a super fine abrasive
Comment from : @winstonsmiths2449

@marymaynor3298
You just killed that coins true value when you didn't need to You can clean silver coins with ez or MS70 coin cleaners and kept the silver value and the coins history value at the same time But what you did by rubbing that baking soda on that silver quarter was take off it's natural strike layer from the coin die it was made from You can have the best of both worlds and keep it's true value at the same time
Comment from : @marymaynor3298

@rafaelsm5294
Bicarbonato no es, tienes que echar sal😅😅😅 hace efecto inmediatamente con la sal !!!!! Un saludo desde España 👍🏼🇪🇸

Comment from : @alfredocabreratrejo5129

@kellcakes21
totally worth using you entire box of baking soda for a not even a state coin
Comment from : @kellcakes21

@dannymccleaf2609
If you’re only interested in the silver value than No cleaning is necessary The reason why “never clean a coin” is said in the coin community is because theres too many morons out there attempting improper ways of cleaning a coin the industry keeps this info secret from the GENERAL PUBLIC of the correct ways to clean a coin because of the profitsand just so everyone knows about 99 of all coins submitted for grading to PCGS or NGC have been dipped or cleanedthe real saying should goknow the value of a coin before cleaningif it’s of high value leave it to the professionals
Comment from : @dannymccleaf2609

@encryptlakegames5328
Does it ruin the finish is my only question
Comment from : @encryptlakegames5328

@doubled7080
If you have a valuable coin and you brush it, any value you have will go away Always let a professional handle and never use a toothbrush i personally would never pay more than 25 cents for that finished product You have to also be careful if you have coins in a coin book Make sure that when sliding the plastic back and forth, do it slowly Professionals can spot brushing Brushing ruins coins
Comment from : @doubled7080

@bolt4694
I don't know who decided that removing unsightly tarnish from a coin destroys its value Removing dirt from the Sistine Chapel didn't lower the value of the painting
Comment from : @bolt4694

@banknotesandcoins
It's always nice to look at clean coins And they still keep their silver value

Comment from : @olgakuznetsov8705

@LuisMartinez-ft9or
Just curious Why would cleaning the coin lower it's market value? Isn't the value based on its silver content?

@JACOPOOFFICIEL
*toothbrush
Comment from : @JACOPOOFFICIEL

@MINDSPARK-u6e
You really don't have to rub it at all [Baking soda is like micro bits of sand] only if you 'leave it in a boiling' pot with aluminum foil and baking soda and two pinches of salt 🧂 quickly remove the coins from the pot and place it in ice Cold water which helps to realign the molecular structure of the metal content which can repair Micro scratches
Comment from : @MINDSPARK-u6e

@michael61985
With rubbing it you scratch the coin
Comment from : @michael61985

@rsmo4118
You should try out a Dremel with chrome polish for any kind of metal polish With the buffing wheel you can make that coin look like a proof and if you really take your time you could even make Cameo proof
Comment from : @rsmo4118

@therrienmichael08
No one will know it was cleaned
