The most I ever made was just under 60 thousand in the detention business with massive o/t that I was forced to do Today at 64 , even though I have a clean personal and driving record , nobody will hire me , I am just flat turn down , is it age discrimination ? If you go to Swift, you can make 50 cents a mile, no overhead Some owner operators don't have the connections to get 180 a mile, so most owner operators need to understand that they're going to lose money if they don't make connections before buying their truck

This is so deceiving Truck driving jobs pay just about 6 figures if not more depending on your company and tenure I have a Class A CDL, but these companies are so regulated and you can’t even take a dump on the job hardly without risking getting fired No thanks, I’ll make my $75k a year, working 20 hours less a week, and using my brain without anyone micromanaging me constantly

I worked a year and a half for Roehl Transport out of Marshfield WI/Gary Indiana It seemed like one of the better companies to start at, but made no money despite working constantly 11 days straight They fired me over a 1 hour late drop, 2 weeks before I would have finished my contract and are still chasing me for "training costs" 3 years later
