surprised at the fuel figures, sitting on 95 to 100km in my 87m motorhome, (truck driver, so very aware of following traffic and getting them past) we are still only using 10lts per 100km We do go off road, obviously not extreme,, but still good economy Same as you, try for 1 big travel day per weekbrWe also did shake down runs, but we put a sticker on everything we had in our moho, and when we use it we take the sticker offif we haven't used it in the 12 months prior to the lapit's history extra cabinetry put in, tried, altered and replaced all before we go

Hi guys, I am relatively new at the moderate kind of 4wd'ing thing I have had 4wd's for years but my latest is the first one that has been kited out for the heavier going stuff (ie lift kit and big tyres with offsets etcbrI have noticed with my latest car an issue that in all honesty is a pain in the assrim offsets that give a much wider wheel track than a lot of other 4wd's are using I often cannot enter the mud puddles id like to because the Jeep is too wide in the wheel track to fit into them I am finding that in almost every case I'm about 75-100mm too wide Im also having to be much more careful of tearing the side out of a tyre on cutoff exposed tree roots etci would have been far better off staying with wheel track that is similar to what most other 4wd's are using!

We managed around 10mths of travel around Aus untill we were forced to head back home due to the camper we were travelling in got damaged in a storm The main reason we had to head home is the insurance It got fixed and everything was sorted about 12mths down the track So because we didn't have anything to live in we had to head back home, and insurance wouldn't assist us in any way shape or form brbrOur biggest tip is to check when your insurance is going to cover and how much coverage you get

$600/week seems awful expensive to me a yank I can drive to Baja or mainland Mexico and live on $20/day or less Fuel and beer being the biggest expense In fact, I can drive to Panama City, Panama which is 5,000 miles from me on $2,500 which covers everything Border crossings, permits, hotels, toll roads, fuel, food, beer and more I went to Australia in 2008 for six weeks Awesome country butt the most expensive I have ever visited $90 for a case of Tooheys Old or a 5th of Bundy rum and that was in 2008! Here in the USA I can buy a bottle of 23yr old Zacapa Rum for $55, in 2022

Hi guy just one thing I've notice I live at Sandstone point right next to Bribie island one thing that the lack of 4x4 drives that don't have there own compressor Every weekend there always a great big queue that every petrol station get there tyres pumped up And nearly every 4x4 has all the bells and whistles but no air pump????? Myself I own a 4x4 v200 with a conopy its stock standard only with a awning a kings battery box ,set up budget trax fridge swag, recovery and a air pump which I thinks is all you need to get out there and explore I've done Frazer island of coarse Bribie and its soft sand with no problems at all What's your thought on this regards Mark

Great episode On all my tours and laps, I don't tow however I always take 2 three ppl tents When the vehicle is in for repair or to hold a basecamp The tents give me a storage tent and a living tent Saved me in Broome with the beast at mechanics for 4 days

One thing I’d find interesting that no one seems to talk about is whether these people have a house etc back at home still? Is stuff in storage? Are they working while out there? $20-30k is a decent chunk of cash and I imagine most people don’t want to return and start life again from scratch So how to balance that would be interesting discussion point
