Has BFG fixed the balancing issues from the Ko2 with the Ko3? Comment from : @ElOzzie48 |

How do the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T's stack up against these two others? I had Falken AT3W's on my 4th gen 4runner and loved them My 5th gen 4Runner that I upgraded to last month came with KO2's on it and I have to admit I have not been a huge fan of them and really miss my AT3W's I also live in a climate that doesn't get a massive amount of rain but does get a lot of snow and ice during the winter, so a tire that is comfortable during the summer driving but grips/stops well in snow/ice is what I need At this point, I am torn between the three A/T makes/models that I mentioned and still haven't decided what my next purchase will be Comment from : @BallDontLie77 |
Semi-on topic question: what's the lowest pressure you can safely go for on/off road use with a tire that's specced for 80 psi? I tow at 80 psi on my 1 ton truck but when I'm not towing, I drop down to 60 psi (door sticker spec is 60/80) all around for better traction in the snow and to make it less jarring on washboard Jeep roads I don't want to be airing up and down all the time, just want to take the edge off on Jeep roads while not causing damage to the tires or being unsafe on the highway Thanks! Comment from : @DirtWireTV |
Please test these again together with Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT including on mud I know you’ve done testing more recently but unfortunately you could only get the ko2 Comment from : @peterj5751 |
The k02 is the best and I’m glad I got to buy a pair yesterday The guy kept trying to sell me the k03, but I said no If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it If you have the best tire on the market, don’t alter it Comment from : @ccloud3981 |
1980 called It wants its white lettering back! Comment from : @timsforcoffee |

I will be sad when I change my 33" AT3W to 35s in whatever I choose The Falkens are freaking amazing Comment from : @raywalteroutdoors |

Hello, personally, and given my area of life in water and stones, the Falken is definitely more suitable than the BF The Falken perfectly controls my empty vehicle of 2480 kilosThank you for your test which is a pleasure to see brIci chez moi c'est le Falken que du bonheur 👍 Comment from : @cbruno7215 |

After putting on 100,000 miles on my BFG K02 10 ply, I went with the Falken Wildpeak R/T I was massively impressed that it lasted than long, no issues with the tire I had some nail puncture going offroad visiting old mines in Colorado but it sealed up well and never had to change a flat Snow traction was ok, but did struggle in the slush Comment from : @funnybeingme |
BFG are junk Comment from : @Jasun78 |
I've always like BFGoodrich but these are quite ugly I went with Falken Comment from : @lannieschafroth6814 |
I'll go with k03 Comment from : @teodulohernandez1868 |
Thank you for an honest review I'm in the market, and have been doing as much research as possible At the end of the day, I'm going to have to roll with the KO3 's I know the tread life is said to be less, but I'll pay the few extra dollars to support American workers and industry Thank you for pointing that out in your video Buy American 🇺🇸 !!! Comment from : @ramtough4384 |
For me after owning KO2, Cooper and Falkens, the AT4 is the one I like the best I tow heavy loads and travel in a lot of snow, mud and off road Falkens last longer and the tread clean out better I thought the BFGs were great until I tried a Cooper and now the Falken tires I only drive 3/4 ton 4x4 diesel trucks Comment from : @dannonebr |
SO nice to have a subjective review Specs don’t tell the story of a tire experience Thanks! Comment from : @natewalkercoaching3506 |
Ko3 should be much better on wet and mud by the thread design brIt makes sense on sand (what you discovered) If you look at it it makes sense that bf would be better in braking and accelerationbri guessa decent ko2 vs ko3 would help i do not remember you making a comparison Comment from : @titusm9837 |
I bought falkens a while back but could not get them to stop making the wheel shake at 52 miles an hour I rebalanced and got an alignment and nothing Something is not right with those tires Comment from : @JB-j2y |
Ko3’s are superior to ko2’sbrbrI was reluctant to switch but I’m now just as confident in the ko3 Rides better, balances easier, not sure on wear being pretty fresh but they’ve been great for 1k miles Comment from : @hailtothe_rooster1572 |
I had a set of K03s on order but just canceled and ordered the AT4s instead Comment from : @DieselTrucker67 |
Need real world wet performance test for the PNW Comment from : @mercurials54 |

What is the best A/T tire for a Transit van??? I am on-road to get to the good off-road trails to get to beautiful camping spots and a little fun on Moab dirt roads were a van probably shouldn't gobrI am looking at the Falken AT 4W, Hankook AT2 Extreme and maybe the new Geolandar A/T4 Comment from : @tonyjenkens5200 |
Driven about 5000 miles so far on the Wildpeak AT4W, I’m really satisfied with the tires…285/55/22 Comment from : @Mickey-h4w |
I have BFG KO3's on my 2021 Ford Ranger and on dry roads they work great The problem is on wet surfaces, they are horrible I would never trust my daughter or wife driving my truck in the rain with these tires I have not had any experience yet in the snow, but hopefully they will do much better than on wet surfaces If you are going to spend 51 of the time on highways or roads with these tires and in an area that it rains a lot, I recommend not buying these tires Comment from : @shonhall4197 |
117 load AT4s have 65k miles warranty Comment from : @g2theb584 |
Great video What load / speed rating on the TA AO3 tires you chose for your Porsche? Comment from : @jimmygaver2595 |
the last video I just watched, these were on a Jeep but the braking on the WildPeaks was pretty bad The KO3 beat it substantially on acceleration in the snow and stopping distance Comment from : @JohnnyButtercuts |
Will get whichever not made in trump USA Falken Baby ! Comment from : @chriauc2976 |
BF Goodrich is owned by MichelinbrNo surprise here that the Michelin salesman brMeaning youbrPreferred them Comment from : @EXCELSIOR_INC |
put some 265/70R17 KO3s on my 2012 F150 XLT through Costco's tire service along with some of their Velox wheels a few months ago Combo looks amazing and I agree 100 about the whitewall lettering, it looks amazing! Bought the truck used from a mechanic who lived at a military base and he had previously put on some Michelin A/T tires, unsure what type, but they were a bit rough and very noisy When I switched to the KO3s I was shocked by how quiet they were in comparison and how much smoother my ride was Also, despite being slightly larger than my previous tires in terms of width and such they didn't seem to affect my MPG at all which was also great Overall very happy with them so far! Comment from : @destroyertank1 |
The last set of BFG's I had were KO1's and they hydrolocked like crazy These KO3's look much better I just replaced a set of GY Wrangler A/T's with 10ply Falken A/T4W Huge difference! dry and wet traction is way better I'm peeling up crosswalk paint from a standstill Comment from : @angrysheepdog9744 |
Do your testing with with a 4x4 truck or jeep not a suv Comment from : @rudyvega1710 |
What load rating are you using, E? Do you have a preference on E vs C? Comment from : @saxophonistscorner |
When you were offroad, did you air down for sand or the long term dirt ? Air pressure seems to affect considerably I am looking to buy the K03 next week for my 2011 Tundra and had looked at the new Falken/Yokohama I had the Falken A/T previously and wasn't impressed on their tread life My previous BFG a few years ago always exceeded life expectancy They had always been quiet and were good when aired down I used to do 2000 miles a year off road in Utah prior to the C-19 I have been through 4 sets of tires on my previous rigs, 2 Ford Expeditions, Nissan Frontier Now I want to go back to the BFG because of the tread pattern and edge lugs I want the tire to have road manners and I think the BFG will My favorite tire so far was the Yoko MT G300 That tire was amazing on and off road Maybe I will see you around town sometimebrCheers br🍻 Comment from : @miketyler4536 |
Had the KO2s and have the wildpeaks now Both were terrible, worst ever Have the Hankook dyna pro at2 extremes and are a better tire Atleast for me I haven’t been stuck with them yet Comment from : @chrisp2209 |
KO3s are excellent in snow Comment from : @Mucker |
Please snow yesterday the bfg ko2 vs ko3 I am going with the ko2 unless I see a snow comparison that changes my mind Comment from : @adamhowe8499 |
Which has a thicker, stiffer sidewall? Comment from : @milojordan2617 |
I’ve had Falken Wildpeak AT3W 275/70R18 on my 2015 F150 for 72,826 miles (6 yrs) and they still have decent tread left Think I’m going to order 4 more AT3Ws again cause I don’t have any complaints with them I have never towed with these tires so I think that’s why they have lasted so long, even tread wear w normal tire rotations every 10,000 miles or so Good tires! Comment from : @blakedee4169 |
Finally, thanks for this thorough review It definitely settled it for me: K03s for the win Road noise is key for me Comment from : @gamecock-mk5zb |
TFL just tested these 2 tires on a wrangler in snow At 30 mph the Falken took double the distance to stop DOUBLE!!! I’m sticking with BF Comment from : @1tdekany |
The test is incomplete until you get those tires in the mud and snow, and do some rock crawling Comment from : @adamweber1545 |

I currently have a set of cooper at3 xlt on my jeep, and its time to replace them Should I go back with the coopers or try out the new falkens? Comment from : @michaeldempsey6747 |
Excellent-thank you Comment from : @hg7240 |
In 285x70x17 E, the Falken weighs 94 lbs more than the KO3 Huge difference Comment from : @alanroberts7723 |
Thank you for the great tire reviews!brbrI have the Falken Wildpeak AT3W on my Tacoma right now While overall I'm mostly satisfied with the Falken, I won't be replacing them with the AT4W when time comes Because of my work, I park my tacoma for days at the time in the garage without driving it When I come back 4 to 7 days later, my tire have developed a flat spot And for the first 10 to 15 minutes of driving, it's like I'm driving on out of round tires It creates enough vibrations in the stearing and through the cab to be annoying After the tires warm up from driving, it's smooth againbr60 paved road / 40 gravel and snow in the winter Except for my flat spot problem, they do what they are supposed to be doing, on the noisier side Comment from : @ejnl72 |
Why would you not support USA made if the price is even remotely close? I just don't understand this Support USA made or live under another countries rule/rules Comment from : @mikesamson1930 |
I have the older Falcon AT3w and will be switching to the New Ko3 soon as it is available I've noticed that in smaller sizes these tires can have significant different characteristics than you see on an average review that runs 33s or bigger My coworkers and I run only 235 to 245 65 17s on our molded Cherokees/ Bronco sports and Outback Wildernes's I have found that I dislike the sand and sludge traction in my AT3 and my buddy running the older KO2 on an Outback size 245/65/17 did much better than my AT3s at this same size That being said my AT3s, I drive on the streets like a sports car with very predictable handling, better than the Ko2 with harder turn ins before squeal Also the weight difference is quite different when comparing tires at smaller sizes between brands Vehicles that really hurt from the tire weight are the Honda Passport Trailsport running a 255 60 18, and bronco Sport, man these vehicles needs the lighter tire Feels like the Outback and Cherokee handle the heavier tires better for their size Sorry I don't know anyone that adventures with the new Rav4 but I have seen them with similar size tires Just my 2 pesos worth for us lighter vehicle guys Comment from : @darvelbidenisapuppet7275 |
Tfl Offroad tested Bfgoodrich K03 vs Firestone vs Falken on snow just a couple days ago brYou should do a snow test between K03 and Nokian nAT! Comment from : @danh210 |
I had KO2 and AT3 on my Tacoma IMO, the AT3 were better and lasted longer The K03 on this video look beefier Comment from : @SC_XOLOs |
I wonder if the ko3 will cup like the ko2 Comment from : @bigred6220 |
The Faulken is mad in the USA I own them and that is why I bought them Comment from : @nathanallen6087 |
Hey I'm in salt lake also, and been running Wildpeaks for a few years (amazing in the snow) Didn't have a great experience with BFGs in the snow I'd love to be proven wrong on this matter would love to meet up and chat tyres at some point Comment from : @istheredlighton |
Is Your Cayenne lifted as it can fit the 275/65/18 tyres? The stock one, from what I've heard, can fit only up to 265/65/18's Thanks Comment from : @XplorerAdventures |
Going tomorrow to put new shoes on my Wrangler Unlimited - these two are on the short list along with the General Gabber ATX Comment from : @JDP-we9hk |
In the test of 5 AT tyres I just watched, you rated the Falken quieter and smoother than the BF Goodrich Which test do I believe? Comment from : @DougHamilton-z4l |
Btw 8 had white letters out for my current set Totally going white letters in for the next set!brCamo mode 🤣 Comment from : @4x4Overlanding247 |
BFG all the way for me!brI've had ko2's for about 9yrs now and done 95,000kms in Aussie conditions and there's still a decent amount of tread left but will need to replace them soonbr1st set of tyres I have actually enjoyed spending money on so pretty dam happy with the results and if the ko3's are an improvement Say no more! Comment from : @4x4Overlanding247 |
In a 35x1150r17 tire the KO3 is $403 and the falken is $298, so if upsizing $525 is significant Comment from : @Jason-bd5iq |
The KO2 was launched in 1979 or 1980 It was the All Terrain T/A, but the very same tread design The casing design upgraded over the years as well as the tread compound I sold them the entire time I owned my tire shop! Sold thousands of them!! 😂😂 Definitely a VERY successful tread design!! Even the KO3 is an evolution from that original tread design br I am positive the KO3 will better survive gravel roads The bigger blocks will resist being chewed up much better than the Falcons Remember, only maybe 5 years ago the Falcons were considered second or 3rd grade tires and not premium tires The BFGs have always been considered premium tires That still leaves me biased against the Falcons vs the BFGs That’s based on experience from 1979 to 2022 when I sold the shop & retired I still drive off-road and have a set of Falcons on one truck and BFGs & Good Years on the rest of my trucks The BFGs and Good Years have competitive research & design for decades!! Falcon, not so much I like the Falcons, but they should be considered second rate as far as tread design, research and longevity The increased use of silicon in the tread compounds has narrowed the gap between first & second rate tires immensely so, as long as the Falcons are less $$, no problems!! The BFGs might not be as good in the mud Comment from : @C10sRule |
WHITE LETTERS ALWAYS OUT GOBBLESS Comment from : @ThePortadump |
I had the Ko3 on my Truck I hated them so much I took them off after 2 weeks Thankfully americas tire gave me credit for them I have never been so happy to change a set of tires Comment from : @ronthompson9036 |
Wildpeak doesnt look aggressive at all but seems to be better on wet cold roads, and at same time really heavy Most my driving is in florida but head north for Christmas every year for about 2 weeks and the roads r usually wet cold snowing Comment from : @jd-it4on |
those two tires are on my Short list for my off road Transit RV van I've run 2 sets of K02 to date (90K miles) brI'm about 5k miles away from having to make the decision brLeaning towards the AT4W - ATM? Comment from : @TerryManitoba |
I went from K02 to AT3W Best decision ever Now I don't like the way the AT4W looks, and the K03 looks like it can hook up in the rain now brUnless find a nice set of AT3Ws in new condition, or I'll get the new K03s Comment from : @CaptainFALKEN |
How do those compare to the Nokian Outpost nATs? I am interested in them as they are so light Comment from : @TacoRancher |
I Falcon on a Jeep The falcons are better all around, especially highwaybr When you have an actual vehicle that is good for all-purpose Comment from : @jamieeisenhower1560 |
Bfg all the way! I have run ko2 for about 10yrs and they never let down They also are relatively light weight compared to other companies The falken is definitely a heavier tire so it’s a no go for me Comment from : @heismyrefuge1027 |
Falken is always better Comment from : @sampathhettiarachchi6748 |
Please do a 3 way comparison between these 2 and the Toyo AT3 for both SNOW AND ICE Very few videos show statistics on both snow and ice performance Thanks! Comment from : @KDreezy |
did i just hear him say "The Ko2 was already one of the best in the snow"?!?!? LMAO! Comment from : @O-Side_Bradley |
I went with the Falken on my 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser Better price, great reviews and better tread life Win win for me Comment from : @DJsWorkshop |
Falken is trash in the snow Kenda is best in the snow I can’t wait to try the new BFG’s Comment from : @jaydavis226 |
Which one would you recommend for Toyota Sequoia TRD PRO 2021? Comment from : @unbreakable1234 |
Need a noise meter to compare the tires or tyre’s Comment from : @davefisher5196 |
I went the Mickey T Baja Boss They seem to be a bit more aggressive that these two The wild peaks are probably the most common tyre here in Australia They are very good value for what you get The Mickey T's were a lot more expensive here Comment from : @jerryfrench2981 |
Looks to me like the pattern of the KO3 has better water ejection paths and more sipping compared to the KO2 Comment from : @smokindenali |
Thanks! Comment from : @ScottThomas3888 |
