Homes are for a family There’s no sense in purchasing an asset you’re not prepared to fully utilize if you have no wife or children For those who believe in flipping homes or renting out should the desire arise, remember the damage this caused in the 2008 recession and the fact that real-estate prices are overly chaotic Comment from : @RedDeadKBII |

Good video! Doing the right thing at the wrong time almost never works out The timing of a home purchase is what makes the difference Strategic renting is valuable but sooner or later ya might want to make the jump and purchase A mortgage (price/principal and interest) stays locked in time (the time of purchase) But of course just buying a house at some point is not the answerit’s wise to “climb the ladder” of home ownership People want their parents’ home as their first home and that spells trouble lots of time It might take a couple decades and a few homes before you can comfortably afford a “dream” home Comment from : @Santaheckler |
Great video! One common mistake & usually perpetuated by realtors is that renting is throwing money away We've been renting for about 10 yrs & probably is a major factor in helping us build wealth When we're ready, we'll probably buy our 1st house Comment from : @mattsonfire3992 |

Nice explanation moneybee! Renting and buying a home each has its own pros and consbrbrRenting: Allow better flexibility on relocation as well as less stress on servicing the mortgage, but after 30 years of paying your rent you will not own anythingbrHouse Ownership: Although lack in the flexibility of relocation, it allows you to leverage and hedge against inflation which is historically 2 to 5 After 30 years of paying your mortgage, the place you stay is what you ownbrbrSo IMO, on the long run of 20 to 30 years, buying a home has more pros compared to renting Comment from : @incomebuddies |
Hey moneybee Personally I like buying instead of renting it has worked for both Nico and I However we live in a desired place Thanks for your take on this Comment from : @AdrianBears |
These are great points! both renting and owning have their pros and cons, but I think it will come down to the individual At the end of the day, owning / investing in real estate is the best way to go to create wealth! big thumbs up! 👍 Comment from : @WagnerSaucedo |

Great video! I think the main pro to home ownership is the equity and I think that outweighs all the renting perks, but it is definitely a case by case basis!brbrThanks for commenting on my video as well You should shoot me over an email so we can connect! Comment from : @entryleveled6275 |

Nice that you weighed up the positives and negatives for both options Personally I think renting is actually the way to go when it comes to living, but buying is the way to go for investing ie Buy a property and rent it out, but rent the property you're living in Thanks for the breakdown :) Comment from : @TheWealthPrince |
Hi Courtney! Just found your channel you did a great breakdown! I really don't think home ownership is for everyone and definitely does not make sense for everyone I just bought my first home and the up front costs are quite signficant and not disccused enough! Can't wait to see more!!!! Comment from : @KatiefromCanada |
I made a video on the exact same topic last week! Great to get another perspective on this hotly debated topic 👍 Comment from : @GuidedInvestor |
Oh we are going through this same dilemma now! Really depends on your long-term goals Love how you broke this down! Comment from : @RoadtoFIRE |
I think this a great video - well structured, with all the pros and cons of buying a house vs renting Personally I have chosen the first option 8 years ago and have 4 years left to fully own my house Subscribing as I am new here and looking forward for your next content! Comment from : @MhKara |
Great tip to ask your landlord for deals straight up, always worth a try - nothing to lose by asking Will put that into practice in other areas too Great vid, new subscriber here! :-) Comment from : @thewealthwarren6940 |
Los Angeles median house price of $700k makes that calculator point to rent forever On the other hand, the low interest rates could lock in a fixed mortgage amount, rather than a slowly increasing yearly rent I have 'one more year' syndrome when it comes to buying a house Comment from : @peterclaesfinance5747 |
Great video New sub here! Comment from : @jonnya6738 |
It's a tough call Teachers in Texas can get a mortgage certificate credit which pays $170 a month as a tax credit which put buying over renting if you stay in the house over 5 years But renting can be good if you significantly increase your savings rate Comment from : @Thetatraderz |
Hiwow nice contentbrI'm here to send you my full supportbrI hope you will visit me and send some love too, thank you!! Comment from : @kimbernards |
I prefer buying properties and real estate investing is because the long term capital appreciation, just like I buy and hold a stock for a long term This kind of the capital appreciation is unbeatable in a long run Comment from : @EasyWealthBuilding |
Thanks so much for sharing your viewpoint here!brbrI'd like to have my own place within the next year or sobrbrSo, this is definitely worth taking the time to learn about 💯 Comment from : @HighTicket2Freedom |

Value-packed video! Thanks for the information I personally am a renter because it is the smart thing to do for this time in my life Comment from : @WealthGiantswithRyan |
Awesome work! Love your content :) I will subscribe 😊 Comment from : @EditWithFelix |
Great video! Nice little comparison, renting is definitely "cheaper" in the UK but buying your house allows you to pay into your own property, and that's why I'm saving up to buy in the next few years! :) Comment from : @StanWithaPlan |
Moneybee, loved the video! It's so interesting that everyone always tells you renting is throwing money down the drain, but you raised some really valid points and hidden costs I wouldn't have considered Very helpful and well thought out video! Comment from : @michaelstewart3314 |
Moneybee is an excellent presenter when it comes to personal finance I feel like I learned so much about the differences between renting and buying after watching this video It also depends on every individual's situation and how it aligns with their personal goals You're correct that renting has way less upfront fees and allows you to allocate your funds into the stock market for consistent ROI Comment from : @alliseeisW |
Oh wow, 9 minutes is pretty long for you Thanks for breaking up the video into segments for your audience Comment from : @arcaneknight9799 |
This is how many people who love seeing MoneyBee blink her eyes in slow motion when she speaks👇🏾 Comment from : @soulfultransfersandtours6271 |
The down payment percent will range greatly depending on what you're trying to accomplish I put down 20 but you can put as low as 35 which on a 200k home that's just 7 grand There are costs to that but I'm just saying it because sometimes people get too scared of buying a home and anything above 20k seems unattainable Comment from : @financiallift6185 |
