i would say American constitutional silver is generally quite expensive to get hold of over here You get much better prices when buying sterling and 50 and have lots of variety to go at if you include colonial sterling into your collection/stack I only really buy rounds as gifts, i think to the lamen they look too much like tokens I'll buy pretty RM bars but i won't stack them, although i may turn to 10oz bars when i've reached my goal for 1oz coins I also find good deals to be had from 2oz coins I also don't mind buying RM sets for a bit of variety; QB, TB, M&L and find if you buy close to release you're not paying much more than Britannia's but once the dealer runs out and has to restock they get marked up, so buy early When it comes to foreign bullion i set myself a target of owning 5x each coin from each country and waited until they had deals on as close as possible or less than the Britannia

Do be icareful/i with Morgans - There's a lot of old counterfeits and stage coins out there, as well as newer „distressed“ reproductions I've a bag of US trade dollars that I picked up from a car boot for a few quid - Some I ithink/i have a Morgan design - And they're some of the most laughable fakes you ever came across They're even magnetic! 🧲🤣brbrMorgans are about as sought after - Thus as replicated as - A 2009 Kew Gardens 50p, so there's a blot/b of funny money around when it comes to those i¡Caveat Emptor!/i 😇brbrWhen it comes to buying or starting a collection, a good pawnbroker is always a beginners best friend You do pay a premium with them - Britannias are about £30,- at one of my local ones, when they have them in - But pawnbrokers are regulated, well trained, would not chance the loss of their pawnbroking licence by knowingly selling fake product, and will often be happy to talk beginners through the basics of buying precious metals, the ineed to knows,/i and what to look out for when considering a piece 🪙⚖👍

Here in Canada the Britannia is foreign but prices are cheaper than maples I think it might be due to the purity and being treated for milk spotting after 2015 or so I really enjoy the Britannia coin and the design I guess after all these yrs living in Canada with pennies a single maple leaf on a coin is kinda bland imo

IMO Buying sovereign coins is best depending on how high silver is and what the premiums are You will lose money on silver if you continue to pay high prices I want my silver as close to spot as I can get it American Silver Eagle will get you $2 dollars over spot A Maple will get you $1 over spot and Britannia a $1 over spot if you had to sell to your local coin store Why pay expensive prices for silver

I only recently started collecting silver, i got 1 maple, 3 pandas, 8 Britannia and 1 smp 100g bar Via a jewel dealer Its lovely to look at, itfeeks like my own bit of personal treasure which i will pass on to my son, if he sells it or not it doesn't matter, it will be dads treasure to him But i can see how it can be addictive

The problem with stacking bullion silver in the UK is having to pay 20 VAT on brand new silver It means you got to over come a 78 premium from dealers just to break even That's the big downside for me Platinum has VAT too on new but at least platinum is more likely(or not as may be the case) to increase in value over time and at least break even even with the high premiums from dealers
