Tried several Guilds at GC Love the Guild sound However, the Chinese shop has serious QC issues Many had the hump at the fretboard body junction, and many had a low nut Though I really wanted one, I gave up trying to find one that was playable Comment from : @jasonbannan4024 |
I understand the statement about martin, but the jr series are all solid wood at a gratis prime, verdad comparable with gs mini for example Comment from : @renerguez |

Man kinda shocked the Yamaha AC1R isnt on this Solid Sidka spruce top, all solid back and Sides 679$ current USD, this guitar would compete against the Taylor 100s, which are around 800$ and laminated back and sides Comment from : @CarterWhitlock-ep4dm |

So thanks to you guys I went with an Alvarez I got the MG60CE, you guys should do the torture test on one… they are a solid wood build top sides and back, bone nut and bridge, ebony bridge pins and I picked one for $75900 with an Alvarez gig bag… would be very interested in seeing how they are building an all solid wood guitar for what is considered by many an introductory guitar price… Comment from : @matthewwilliams747 |
I’m stepping into acoustic guitars been playing electric for years… can you guys dig into a LUNA same price range as the less than $1000 acoustic… really enjoy the channel and watching you review these guitars… thank you for the work you guys are doing! Comment from : @matthewwilliams747 |

You didn't include Martin or Gibson because of the name but you included Taylor, I don't know Comment from : @jerseypete44 |
I don't know if you can still get something like it at today's prices, but a few years back i got a Guild DV52 dreadnaught with rosewood back and sides for $600 It was very close to the sound of a D28 Eastman also made a rosewood dread for $1000 that was very good sounding too, but maybe both of those are over $1k now Comment from : @DougMen1 |
Just scored a used alvarez AMPE915EARSHBbrbrIts got a solid red cedar top, massacar ebony (not sure if laminate), ebony binding, and mahogany neckbrbrIt jumped to life in my hands, and for a parlor (large parlor) size, it has great response from low mids to highsbrbrInthink it was $650 new, got it for $375SCORE! Comment from : @stevescuba1978 |
You should redo this video again! Lots of new guitars this year Comment from : @kodybryantmusic7357 |
I picked up a new Guild 120 with a Sitka Spruce top and no pickup for $600 a number of years ago and it’s been the best thing Sounds as good as a $2000 Martin or Taylor, taken a beating, done lots of recording and performing, and I still feel excited to play it almost every day Comment from : @thesoapboxsalute |
Hi How does the Taylor 214ce compare to the 114? In the videos I’ve watched the 214 sounds richer and has a slightly darker sound that I like Is it a decent option if you find it on sale? Comment from : @Jake-Blades |
Epiphone (inspired by Gibson) j-45 not bad Comment from : @drewmerklinghaus6988 |
I have a faith guitar designed by the British luthier Patrick James Eggle made in Indonesia, and I would say it would give other £750 guitars a run for their money Comment from : @russellnewton6660 |
My 69 FG-300 was bought used for way more than it was worth several years ago Pickguard was coming off, neck is twisted I came bere looking for a replacement After reading comments and watching the video, I think I'll just take the Yamaha to a lurhier finally Comment from : @derek1302 |

I have a Taylor 814ce which caused me to buy a GS mini as it fits in the airplane overhead and still sounds greatIt's my 2nd gs mini the first one had the clip on pickup which for lack of of a better word,,,,suckedmy newer one has the built in pickup which is much improved just as An added note my favorite at this price point is the Yamaha FGTA with built in reverb and chorus I picked in up new on a whim in LaCrosse Wisconsin for around $800 Even without effects the tone of this unit is impressive Comment from : @tomm1348 |

One thing I want to get your thoughts on If you have more than one acoustic, let’s say 2 One you play regularly and one as an equivalent back up Do you get 2 different builders or same builder with something different with the tone woods like rosewood and mahogany? Comment from : @joshuataylor672 |
i just ordered a inspired by gibson hummingbird at 85000 i will let you guys know what i think Comment from : @luckyhaskins69 |

I actually am an electric player(who has a bad habit of modding $200-$500 with hundreds in upgrades), and am looking for a good acoustic I find the jumbos and dreadnoughts a little uncomfortable to play Do you have any recommendations on what would be a good acoustic for the rock and pop style guitarist? Comment from : @bradleyolinger1691 |
My Yamaha Trans-Acoustic was $779 and it sounds like something well above the price point Couldn't be happier with it One of my overall favorite acoustics since I started playing in 1999 Comment from : @JesseLBK |

If you change the nut and the bridge on the Yamaha LL16 to bone it will not sound so bright When it comes to recording it's a killer It sounds amazing Comment from : @MultiStratoman |
Takamine EG5403S Comment from : @CharlieJaws |
I see a lot of call outs for omitting Seagulls/Godin They look amd sound great but there is a lot of documented observations (i can vouch in my own experience) that their QC and material chocies have regressed in recent years and starting in 2006 they began epoxying their necks which makes resets a PITA and seems like lutherie malpractice Comment from : @skukeness6201 |
Guys, I have been an electric player, an intermediate at best A long-time musician friend of mine tells me that Takamine is a great brand for those making a transition to acoustic because of its action and playability I see you don't have any of these of your lists Why, and can you comment on what my friend says about electric players adding an acoustic to their collection? Comment from : @louishalon6409 |
No punches on the gs mini , it’s a toy ……and the 100 series , thin sound , like an orange wood, thin, Sorry ran out of time , bye Comment from : @ED-wj5tp |
No Seagull S6? Master Luthier or not, there's no way that the Seagull S6 doesn't belong on this list I can't take you seriously now Comment from : @AvroBellow |
Just bought Epiphone j200 IBG $750 Comment from : @mikesing01 |
I've had to remove and replace, re-glue, the bridge on two of my 1970-80's $400 guitars They were glued over the paint or varnish Really??? Guitar repair is a very delicate process and procedure 🎶 Comment from : @GrantGrove |
I got a left handed martin 12 string for like, $700? A few years ago on sweetwater It came PLEKd and sounds beautiful I'm pretty certain those cheaper martins have composite sides/back, but it sounds amazing I do need to lower the action on it a bit now though I've always wanted a seagull or Godin acoustic guitar too Comment from : @ATthemusician |
No Seagulls? Comment from : @stimpsonjcat67 |
Love this I almost bought that Eastman (I think) but it sounded too much like my ‘92 Taylor 812C (Santee)w/ an added Fishman pickup brbrI’m shopping new and vintage gear Yamahas now I want a big bottom sound and this ‘97 Martin D15 (M) will be better if I ever improve my finger-pickingbrbrThanks so much, gentlemen! Comment from : @genghis_connie |

14:23 I think the one you reviewed in the other video was the LL16D, which is a bit more expensive This one doesn’t have abalone trim or the same inlays and comes with a soft case rather than hardshell, but the differences are minor overall Comment from : @nosleeptillhumboldt |
Do ovation suck?? Comment from : @miguelmartinez987 |
Yamaha definitely knows what they're doing Earlier this summer we were shopping for a secondary guitar to have around our church- office guitar, backup to our music pastor's primary, etc Under 1k, so this video exactly We actually trekked out to Sweetwater to test drive several models we were interested in, including the Eastman mentioned here, GS Minis, and a few others The Yamaha won out, and we haven't regretted it a bit! Comment from : @littledrummerboyph |

Now the bad on buying Guitars online, bought 1976 J-200 artist showed sound board cracks and said professional pickup installed Lol $1600 from Texas all dried out fretboard and frets falling out, took it to the repair shop $1000 to repair, be done for Christmas, drunk put their foot into the guitar, bracing all had to be repaired and new frets job, cracks repaired and repair bridge Now waiting for the paint job I can't wait to play it But watch out for the repairs when buying old guitars Unless your pockets are full Comment from : @goldringhunter2431 |
Don't do it, save your money and buy a great guitar, like my Gibson 1968 J-50 I just bought one at online charity auction and paid $2500 with only pictures, taking a big chance, but scored a 10/10 with old case and old bobby lee strap and the sound of that thing Church owned and was a player I was blown away; I would not sell it for $10,000 That's how good it sounds Comment from : @goldringhunter2431 |
Here in the Philippines we have a great guitar under 400$ that sounds almost like Taylor It's Clifton Guitar no frills just tone Talking about The S Series Solid Mahogany Come check it out Comment from : @fivestones8450 |
I don't understand why people buy new guitars Used ones are cheaper, sound better and if you get tired of them, you can always resell them for the same price or higher than you bought them for Comment from : @ikravchik |

Hi, I purchased a new Taylor 117e Grand Pacific acoustic last Wednesday I think the guitar has a great tone and you get a lot for the price It was originally 899 GBP I got a discount only cost me £799 I am an intermediate player I have been playing Fender guitars for the past few years I have a fender CD 60 -SCE electro acoustic dreadnought which I purchased new 3 years ago it still sounds really good I just recently put a set of Ernie Ball paradigm phosphor Bronze strings on it and the tone is even better I also have a one year old Fender villager California series 12 string acoustic love It too I gave the CD 60 to my 20 year old daughter as she is just learning to play she was really pleased the guitar is in excellent condition hardly any wear on the frets My new Taylor 117e suits me fine because I like the narrower neck and the action is low enough and comfortable I just wanted a higher price acoustic that didn't go beyond my budget I could have spent a lot more but just decided on this guitar meantime as I play at home mostly so the Taylor should do the job I also enjoy singing too I just wanted a guitar with a little more bass good mid range and slightly different tone from my brighter sounding Fender guitars Anyway love the video Andy Glasgow 🥰🏴 Comment from : @andrewstirling6457 |
