I don't think we are getting the full story on some of these guitars We can appreciate that guitars are made in the USA or Mexico, but is there a deliberate difference in build quality? I am not talking about materials or appointments but rather the Mexico plant being instructed to produce guitars that are inferior to those built in the USA Comment from : @undercrackers56 |

Taylor 314-“You get a lot for the money” I disagree, you don’t even get solid wood guitar Ridiculous Taylor charges over two grand for a laminated model No go for me Comment from : @TGRizzle |

I bought the 000-15SM from Coop and Chris a couple of years ago and it is a fabulous guitar My complaints are that Martin ships guitars with the action very high, so you need a tech who you trust, to set it up In my experience, Taylors for the most part are ready to go out of the box Martin are like Levi's raw selvedge denim, they take time to break in and cannot be rushed My 12 fret Martin is just (finally) starting to loosen up If you haven't purchased a guitar from Alamo, I highly recommend them They made purchasing via text painless Comment from : @kimoandrews5802 |

Started playing a year ago on an electric (Strat) Decided to get an acoustic Went to GC and played a bunch of pieces from various manufacturers I didn’t have a budget in mind just whatever felt best, easy to play, and sounded good Ended up buying a used Taylor 224ce Koa off Reverb The neck shape and size simply feels better and makes it easier to play Comment from : @06barcafan10 |

Fantastic video As a player looking to move up from a Yamaha FG730s (which I love) you have given me much to think about The fact that you are both amazing players as well as guitar geeks with deep dive knowledge of the brands and their products instills respect and trust that your reviews and opinions are well founded from an extensive experience and hands-on perspective Thanks so much for producing and sharing this video ✌️ Comment from : @roberttosa2560 |

Well I have a few thoughts…brbrFirst that Epiphone SJ-200 sounds legit! The several I’ve played were terrible sounding guitars Although considering how poorly my ten year old Epiphone held up, I do have concerns over timebrbrSecond imo the FGX5 is the king of this price range, although if on a budget the Alvarez MD60 (or MD70 if you prefer rosewood) is worth consideringbrbrbrMy final thoughts is if you are looking for one nice acoustic and get to this price range, keep saving and don’t let money steer you away from what you really want Unless it’s a FGX5 in which case you’re good and imo that is a solid choice regardless or price Comment from : @shred5 |

Why don't you like Eastman? I also like Seagull - they make some great guitars that punch outside of their space Comment from : @BarakTheWonderer |

In Europe, the 000-15M increased from around €1600 to €2100 😐 brSo f Martin I guess Comment from : @HubraumTV |

A good Guitar needs : A massive top made by spruce or better cedar Sides and back should be massive too , but that's not absolutely a need ( Ovation has only a plastic kitchen bowl ) But the material should be Palisander ( rosewood ) A must is a massive neck made from mahogany or maple ( the neck makes with the top the tone ! ) The fretboard must be ebony or rosewoodThe Bracing is important, also the craftsmanship on Neck, bone supportbrYou can buy this in St Petersburg, Russia Stay away from USA trash, Mex or Canada Some good ones also in Slovakia, Tschechien ( Czech Rep ) and Germany The spruce has to be German spruce from the alpine Mountains, never cheap Sitka Have some great Hollidays in Petersburg Russia, you will find the best shops of craftsmen there In Germany you get Furch half the price than in USA or go to Prag, Tschechien for a fine Furch ! great Beer in Prag also ! I guessed there'd be a Yamaha in there and I suppose the FGX5 had to take the crown but I was a little surprised not to see the AC5R make the cut All the guitars you chose were Mahogany, personally I prefer the more punchy sound of Rosewood Comment from : @michaellilley6725 |

Excellent video, as almost all of yours are I’m not bragging, I’m just old! I’ve played for 60 years, and have owned over 150 different acoustic guitars in my life, trying to find the sounds that appealed to me Guitars from $500 to $4000 I’ve owned lots of Martin,Gibson, Taylor , Yamaha’s, Epiphone and Breedlove guitars brbrObviously “likes “ are subjective Taylor is extremely well made and easy to play but I’m a Martin guy The 15 series is a fantastic grouping of guitars and the 00015sm is one of my favorites I love the Furch sound and quality and I will have one in the next year brbrBut in my opinion there are still some excellent guitars under $1000 that have excellent sound and quality Eastman makes some really nice guitars and the Inspired by Gibson J45 is very nice as well But stepping up under $2000 definitely is a step upbrbrThank you for your videos and sharing thee guitars Comment from : @anthonyb2334 |

I appreciate your videos! You really cut through the hype with honest, straightforward assessments I really like that you carry the guitars you review and that you carry and you actually buy and play the guitars you carry, yourselves And yes My experience with Yamahas is they are solid up and down their line - not particularly fancy, but consistent quality and playability up and down their line Comment from : @myronlarimer1943 |

in my opinion everything above 2500 - 3000 € is (at least for me) not worth it for factory made guitars i just put together a custom guitar made to my specifications built by lakewood, a small company, completely built by hand, and i ended up with a price tag of about 3400 € with lr baggs anthem and case and everything if you want to spend this kind of money on a guitar, support your local luthier and get yourself a true custom guitar made only for you Comment from : @marctestarossa |

Taylor 214ce DLX review:brbrGot the 214ce DLX that came with the hard taylor case for 1100 EUR (Thomann sale), seems to be discontinued now It is just a 214ce plus but with the gold tuners and diamond inlays from what I understand in the specs, however the body looks a bit more like the standard 214ce brbrThe sound unplugged was typical bright and crisp, but not as full as I hoped to be honest However the playability is its strong suit in my opinion, and as a mainly electric guitar player it felt really good for both fingerpicking and strumming It made me question why Fender bothers with those Acoustasonics when these Taylors are already not that far from electric guitar necks and comfort (vintage electrics at least, not shred machines) :p But yes, the 214ce seems to be better suited to being plugged in than mic'ed So if you need a work horse for gigs I would recommend it For unplugged sound I think a full solid wood body could be potentially a better choicebrbrThat said, I believe the original price without the sale was around 1600 EUR for the DLX model, which for just the tuners, inlays and hard case is totally rediculous I would never have bought that taylor for this much, and that explains why the discontinued it probably I guess the case added 200 EUR alone, but like many comments explain already a hard case doesn't need to be a consideration when buying on a budget, it just adds to the price without a serious benefit brbrTLDR: good sounding in the price range at around 1000-1400 but probably not top spot in the competition great playability, seriously recommend at least trying it out Comment from : @jimmydim2212 |

Way to know Alamo are the best guitar shop on You Tube and really know there stuff ? Because they recommend both a Furch and the fantastic Yamaha Red kabek series in their choices here! Hats of to you guys as always brbrI've been following you for years and actually bought the OM size Version of the FGX5 when it first came out and was unheard of , about 5 years ago and remember the guy in the shop here in Paris reccomemnding It , saying It had just arrived and don't be put off by the plain and simple look !brThis was before you first reviewed It but I knew you would and I knew you would say all the great things younhave about It when you did so brI remember at the time I also played the dread version the one you arer reveiwing here back to back with a D18 and honestly there was no comparison, the Yamaha was just so much better in every way including playability and at half the price brSo Its fantastic to see it once again getting the recognition it deserves brbrI own a quite blingy Taylor 2017 custom shop Sinker/Amazonian rosewood GS and a Custom Rainbow Furch series with Alpiine spruce / Cocobolo , both beautiful sounding and very differeent guitars and pricy but my little OM Red Label Yamaha is easily the best value and quality you can get for this kind of money brHonestly do not hesitate to buy one , you won't be dissapointed ! The year was 2000 and my hair wasn't as high and tight as it is now, but i remember walking into guitar center and purchasing a taylor 314 I sweet talked the salesman down to 700 for the guitar and 300 for the case for 1000 bucks out the door This was a solid wood hand made taylor, made in america with spruce and sapele tonewoods 1000 bucks out the door, after tax Comment from : @gr6914 |

I had a Taylor 114 ce and a 214 ce, both are good guitars but I sold the 214 because to my ear my particular 114 sounds better My 114 is about 8 years old now and has aged very gracefully Comment from : @jimross9429 |

I have the 15 series with the cutaway and I love the sound and feel more than any acoustic I’ve ever played and my first American made guitar However, I use a looper frequently and slap the guitar for percussion and the side actually cracked from pretty normal use with my Yamaha and aria dreadnaught Since been fixed for not too much but the luthier said it was due to some corners they cut with the bracing to keep cost down Comment from : @ChristianKady |
000-15m was a great deal with hard shell for $15k a few years back But now with a gig bag for $18k, I don't know if I'd buy it again Comment from : @DoctorMandible |

How about reviewing the Sire Larry Carlton A4 acoustic for $534? Comment from : @robertwallace8533 |
Haha no "how could you leave out" comment but I have become an Eastman fan after recently buying their lowest-priced all-solid wood model for $600 to be my "campfire guitar" and am so impressed with the quality I got for that price So they probably have something worthy in the $1000-$2000 range but I have no doubt these were all great choices Comment from : @williamhutchings1543 |
Great video as always Any reason why the Yamaha A3R/AC3R/A3M/AC3M were not included? Comment from : @jesuefeokagbare |

I picked up a 314ce and GS Mini mahogany on the summer sale with BOGO sale last summer and paid $1998 for both That was hard to beat Comment from : @Full_Deflection |

I have had the Taylor 214ce plus for about 2 months, and I love it, was worth every penny Comment from : @reubenhayward1625 |
I would suggest that people interested in guitar start thinking outside of the Martin, Taylor, and Gibson box For example, McKenzie & Marr build wonderful guitars at a reasonable price Solid-body acoustic guitars, ebony fingerboard and bridge, quality spruce top, and a beautiful high-quality case for $1299 Satisfaction guaranteedbrbrFor the major acoustic manufacturers (Yamaha excluded), it’s become just a money game getting customers to pay more for less Comment from : @tmo-y5b |
I can not buy into a laminate, layered guitar north of 1k Taylor or not The general fandom for Taylor is just to much Nice video otherwise Comment from : @richardharding9975 |
