@noelpaintonsmith8091
Cooking at home is the biggest way we've saved money I moved to Australia from the USA after I married and Aussie Honestly, I'm not digging the restaurant quality of food here, so I've been cooking at home, almost all our meals, just because I prefer my own cooking over most restaurants here Also, I've been making more and more dishes from scratchbrAlso, I've made lots of "mixes" and put them in jars They are much healthier for us, and they save us so much money!
Comment from : @noelpaintonsmith8091

One of the best decisions I have ever made was to make friends with people who have kids close in age to mine brbrI swap clothes with a girl who has older boys and younger girls, while I have an older girl and younger boy So I give her girl clothes, she gives me boy clothesbrbrI also swap with my cousin who has a girl older than mine and boy younger I give him boy clothes and he gives me girl clothes brbrHas saved us a ton of money and time all around
Comment from : @effinxrightt

Comment from : @GoyanHomman

@MaureenMacD
There is one thing I’m not buying and that is the wordbr“neuroeconomics” Kids watch their parents and learn all kinds of things, including money management or mismanagement Economics is something that MUST be taught in schools Especially with the high cost of living, it’s imperative to be able to live within our means Learn what matters most in life, and that is not things nor the accumulation of things Presents does not compare with presence Learn to live with less and to give more of yourself to your loved ones You will be much happier and hopefully not bankrupt
Comment from : @MaureenMacD

Comment from : @liznelson8011

@markwebb1040
I would add a couple things brbr1) Stop caring what other people think You can't live their lives and they can't live yours Not keeping up with the Jones's will also reduce your stress brbr2) On the beverage front, we drink a fair amount of iced tea (without sugar) If you use 10 tea bags per gallon, you can get 10 gallons of tea from a single standard box of tea bags That's roughly $500 for 10 gallons of a beverage with flavor Also less expensive than a gallon or two of milk (Plus, we're the only species that voluntarily drinks the milk of another species)
Comment from : @markwebb1040

@yamilhapalma8244

Angela:brbrPlease cite your “scientific” source Which specific medical journal or study are you referring to, please?brbrMisspending money could possibly be hereditary but more than likely, people just weren’t taught how to handle their finances And they pass along to their offspring the bad spending habits because their children don’t have good role models
Comment from : @mailinglist2451

@kurokitsune5743
The sad moment when majority of those tips to save money are already part of your mundane lifebrbrWith slight variations like water and tea instead of water and milk as main drink options, but anywaybrbrI'm younger than 30 and those "tips" are mostly about using basic common sense
Comment from : @kurokitsune5743

@NoraLynn82
it's frustrating looking for tips on how to cut costs only to be suggested things that I already do I was raised in a rather frugal family, with grandparents who lived through war, so you might be right, it could be genes or maybe just learnt behavior But yeah, it still feels like I don't do enough, despite doing all of this list as a default, minus the garden since I'm in an apartment in the city We need a more hardcore version of this list 😂
Comment from : @NoraLynn82

@merahansen3340
I have read, if you thrift furniture, sometimes it's good to do a test for lead, because some old paint contained it
Comment from : @merahansen3340

Yes, our grandma's cooked from scratch every day, my grandmas did not have careers and spent their days cooking and cleaning, the reality of the 21st century is that women are often away from their homes 50-60 hours a week working on a career as well as being parents

@billiepreston5470
This is BS Maybe a learned behavior but not genic Being raised poor is a factor 2 out of 6 children, two are excessive spenders, 2 are just plain careless, 2 save and are frugal The mother left the father with 6 children He worked up to but not limited to 16 hrs a day It affected different children in different ways
Comment from : @billiepreston5470

@jillianlea9690

@jeanninecrider8521
I am sooooo confused! I just watched your 21 tips for a clean home Your appearance is radically different in this video than the former
Comment from : @jeanninecrider8521

@dstevens518
Saving is good, investing in your health and earning potential is even more improtant The total amount you can save is just the difference between your abslolute mimmum costs (food, shelter, clothes, transportation) and the actual level of living you're doing now Cutting waste is only substantial IF you're wasting lots But increasing your earning potential by growing your revenue streams is limitless, and will give you the life you really want, not simply the "learn to be content" lifestyle
Comment from : @dstevens518

@Coffeeismylifeblood
There will always not be enough when you’re in your wants There will always be enough if you’re in your needs, most of the time unless you’re waiting
Comment from : @Coffeeismylifeblood

@jonlilley2832
Thank you very much for reminding me of all the things my parents & grandparents used to do I do most of them now, but canning just isn't one of them Living alone, it just doesn't make sense for me And even though I do cook and eat at home most of the time, I don't cook for a lot of people anymore so I'm going to start getting rid of the extra large cooking items (baking dishes, etc) I just don't use Or at least severely cut down on them Once again, thank you for the reminders!
Comment from : @jonlilley2832

@FrankaKirby
Video is saved!
Comment from : @FrankaKirby

@Bettyalford-h9l
Being frugal or not depends on whether you were raised poor or rich, people who grew up poor value their property and are conservative, people who grew up with money are wasteful and lazy
