I think of the Yvettes of our schools, and I think we should actively reach out to each child with questionnaires on what they need at home to succeed Do they have food, electricity, shelter, etc The social worker at school should help students get the support they need

I totally disagree with you If children are getting bored or disruptive, it is not because they have to learn, rather it is a result of their lifestyle's impact on their capacity to concentrate No other country in the world complains about children having to learn and take exams Why so much complaining in America? I'm going to be controversial and suggest that rigid neurotypical thinking deliberately restricts the opportunities for great teacher to do their thing because there is compliance with 'norms' are frowned upon, or threaten those who simply can never rise to the challenge of embracing even the most needy kids

I'm appointed as a student teacher for teacher's day as a Substitute for my adviser Since i'm still a student it's very scary to act like someone with authority even when you yourself is not wouldn't it be very weird when your weird classmate is teaching your class? What truly would make teachers great would be if they kept their political views out of the classroom If they would stop trying to influence children instead of teaching them critical thinking skills Teachers need to teach the subjects and let the parents lead their own children

This guy is misleading especially if you are a new teacher who is going to enter the classroom to teach students Being a subject teacher means you are definitely suppose to be a content expert of the subject and know how to follow the standards to teach students If you cannot fulfill this requirement, you cannot get the teaching certificate and the schools(both public schools and private schools) will not hire you Knowing and hearing your students is important, but what you need essentially is to demonstrate your ability to lead your class to learn the content in front of your supervisor and school administration

A good teacher should always have an open mind and a humble attitude, and the saying that teachers are also learners was very impressive However, this is not only important for teachers but also for myself If I listen and have a humble attitude when dealing with others, they will treat me the same way If someone shows me listening and humility first, I will also learn from that and respect that person Therefore, I believe that listening and humility are important in our lives
