I first watched this video when I completed a level 1 TA Assistant course at the end of August, and have watched it at least four times since as I prepare to start my journey as a TA After being taken on by an agency I should be placed shortly But I wanted to thank you for this video and your other videos that I have already watched They have really helped to prepare me for what comes next, and again I can't thank you enough

British TAs need to learn how to speak their own language properly before starting in a classroom The problems are mainly with native English speakers, as the non-natives are usually ok! I'm constantly hearing double negatives and tenses (eg did-done, were-was, seen-saw, went-go, come-came etc) the wrong way round and even during lessons on grammar! How is this helping children to learn English?

Just finished the application process for TA at a DOE preschool and I'm highly anxious and nervous the closer I get to my start date Been working with a company that works with children that may have development issues They haven't done great by training and I haven't done so well at other preschools If anyone has extra advice for me Please and thank you!

I tried to be a TA in high school They assigned me to the janitor to clean lunch tables I was angry and stopped showing up I wanted to help teachers not the Janitor!

In America, we actually have three different types of what one might call a TA We have General Education Paraprofessional (GenEd Para), Special Education Paraprofessional (SpEd Para), and Behavioral Technician (BT)(which technically qualifies as a Paraprofessional) GenEds typically help on more of a group level or work in a lunch room, library, or office position, SpEds typically work one on one with those who have Autism, Asperger's, and ADHD who need additional support, guidance, or correction BTs work more with those who have more challenging medical and Behavioral needs
