I've been volunteering at my church's nursery for several years now This last week, a little boy signed "more" I didn't know what it was, but another adult did Both the little boy and the other adult knowing that sign allowed communcation which prevented a massive meltdown As a result, here I am on YouTube binging all the ASL content I possibly can so I can be a better caretaker and (eventually) a better mom Comment from : @BSwims777

I strongly disagree i know many parents who used sign language to communicate and stalled speech development of their children Currently a friend of mine has a daughter turning 3 who still does not speak, and now shes at that point of frustration because the other children try to communicate with her and she can not I think there is a fine line when using it, and if your not careful it becomes the first language which is NOT widely practised in children If your going to use it, speech should be encouraged along with it Comment from : @toriwalker7241
