Rodney King encountered hate and evil, and instead of reciprocating or escalating like so many do chose love and forgiveness He was in more of a position than anyone to call for anger and violence and vengeance, but somehow showed near superhuman restraint and maturity, it's almost beyond belief how he managed to hold onto so little hate and bitterness

The sad footnote to this story is the police arrested a troubled man who after fleeing from them in a high-speed chase that could have killed someone, also resisted arrest by continuing to get up and run That was why the police used excessive force The riots should have never happened! It's a miracle the country was able to heal from that But most importantly the police will not be as aggressive to lawbreakers for fear of this kind of public scrutiny

So when they first interviewed Rodney in 92 when he was leaving the jail in the wheelchair they asked him "Did you hear any kind of slurs at all?" Rodney "What you mean what slurs?" Them "Any kind of racial comments made at all?" Rodney " Ohhh Racial, Nah, I didn't, nah, hear any" Yet, years later he says they said the "N" word numerous times I guess regardless of slurs or no slurs, be still was beat really bad Its just interesting as far the discrepancies

I’m caucasian but I think Mr King was the victim A victim of police brutality over speeding/pursuit He pulled over, took 3 steps back like he was asked, and got on the ground like he was asked All the cops had to do was cuff him but instead they beat the shit out of him And he didn’t “lunge” when he tried to get up He fell right back down because his leg was broken I’ve seen hundreds of whites go on pursuit on World’s Wildest Police Videos and at the end of each, they are detained and cuffed without much more than a little scuffle, let alone no beating Mr King’s case was a racist police brutality There’s no question about it
