I inherited my MIL'S Singer 8280 & I've had it over a year & it wouldn't catch the bobbin thread no matter what I did I watched your vid in slow motion & it worked perfectly!! THANK YOU!!!!

I just wanna tell to anyone having the same struggle as me: I managed to do the strings for the same kind of Singer model like this but from 20's with the help of this videobrbrBUT just know that the hooks 3 and 5 are INSIDE the machine (so is 4 too unless you raise the needle) AND you might need a knife or external tool to put string inside the hooks manually Otherwise the upper string is gonna get stuck all the time between other sh1t inside

Although it is common sense to a lot of people, beginners need to be told to keep there fingers in a certain area and away from the needle aka safety I now have a granddaughter that will probably never sew again because she was not instructed properly and her finger got in the way of the needle Do any sewing machines have a safety guard shield that you can flip down to keep a kid from putting there fingers in harms way?

My arms aren't long enough to hug you from the uk! So I'll send you a virtual one! 😉 🫂brAfter a check on the usual suspects why my machine was doing the birds nest I took my cover off and presto! There was some thread wrapped around the tension disc! I gingerly broke it up with a Stanley knife and removed the strands Now I have my mean machine up and running again! brYou have saved my sanity and probably around £100 -ish at a repair shop! 😱brThank You so much for a fantastic tutorial and very clear information 😇

07/06/24 I subscribed to your channel some time ago because I have wanted to learn to sew but I didn't have a machine I have been given a Singer machine from the 50's that belonged to a friend that passed away It's supposed to be in working condition so I hope to start using it soon

Oh my gosh my boyfriend got me a sewing machine and I'm a total novice (besides the occasional iron on hem tape!) And I had no clue what the lever did and kept trying to line my fabric up perfectly This helped!

My late mother taught me to sew when I was about 9 years old She had a White treadle operated machine (I have it now) that she made wedding dresses for many women, and clothes for us kids, and a couple suits for dad She used to put me on the treadle for rides when I was a baby I have done my own sewing for 37 yearsbrbrI bought an inexpensive Singer a few years ago I thought having zig zag stitching would be nice Straightened the legs on three flare bottom pants (to go with the newer style) I bought the singer because it had the raised sewing platform to sew pant cuffs The next time I went to use it, it did nothing but make "nesting" clumps (I never changed any settings) I'm back to using the 123 year old trusty, well built, White treadle

Thank you for an excellent sewing tutorial My new HTVRONT mini sewing machine for beginners (38 stitch) arrived without documentation However, two empty plastic bags were in the box After searching the web, I failed to find the missing manual (A test cloth was also missing) HTVRONT only created a short (3 minute) video that teaches topics in seconds The machine, thankfully, works and does not appear to be missing pieces Your tutorial will help me test everything and sew for the first time Thank you for being a company that believes in quality

What would you say is the first thing to practice, as you are beginning to learn to sew? brbrDoes anyone rembember sewing on a piece of paper with dashed lines, to teach you to sew straight?
