I’m so excited to start sewing! I’ve had not one but 2 Singer machines collecting dust and finally pulled them out SAHM looking for an outlet and to get some creative juices flowing again, but also so excited that it will benefit myself and my family in being able to make things we desire! I just pulled out my grandmothers Kenmore sewing machine (from sears-rip) from 1973 Luckily she kept the manual and it is in pristine condition Luckily my father grew up with it so he knows how to do a tune up brI can’t wait to start sewing with it and make her something with her own sewing machine, a full circle moment This was super helpful in learning about the technical things even if the machines are vastly different The length/width/tension is something that I had no idea about and was confusing me, this was full of great knowledge and really let me understand the machine so much more! I feel so bad I have a brand new machine Ive never used (still in the box) I always look at seams on an outfit and how its made so that I can make my own Clothes in the stores are so boring and expensive, not to mention poorly made As a young girl I watched my mom so Anything I wanted she would make All I had to do was draw the outfit front, back and sides, undicate buttons, zippers and darts My mom was a great seamstress and even made her own patterns out of plain paper bags People sought her out I may not be able to sew just like her, but Id like to try It would be like shes still alive with me😢 Comment from : @sandragutierrez3917 |
