I bought this because of this video Its a mostly bad game but I can see why people enjoy it Ive found it so easy, beat O'Connor and Toretto no issues The handling is a mess But the bones of the game are interesting brThe main issue is that on original hardware, the performance is all over the place and graphics are so blurry The frame rate never holds 60 in the city and at times you cannot see your turns Argh brbrI want to love it but its just a bit crap

Could the controls being that way be because of the pressure sensitive buttons on the ps2 controller? I imagine that when you emulate it each button press registers as 100 pressure

I used to have it and it was fun it was just so dark on my tv you couldn’t hardley see anything and it made it almost unplayable but the customization is comparable to the likes of the new forza games I give it a 7/10

Things that are wrong in this game:brbr- awful drifting physics (everyone plays this game knows it)br- no tuning options to setup your car (example: you can't change the gear ratios for high top speed)br- can't sell rival's car to make money (who doesn't want to make extra money right?)br- can't change your car/tires when choosing a rival to battle (like how we can do it in Tokyo Xtreme Racer/Kaido Racer series does it)brbrOverall I give this game 3 out of 5 stars

I‘ve just tested it myself and yup your footage described my feelings perfect All those nice touches and in depth infotext and on the other side this under baked physics I also played a Shutokou Battle Game which have a similar style of physics but is way easier to understand how its want you to drive In fact I liked it so much I uploaded a Video on my channel Sad this won’t be the case for FaF

The irony is that Genki was the one making the original 2003 game, Eutechnyx made plenty of games, Street Racing Syndicate and Ford VS Chevy use the somewhat janky physics engine, something that you can recognize from the unchanged finish line animations

To drift you need to counteract steer and turn of drive assist because it’s annoying when driftingwell I mastered a lot even AWD and FF cars that I can drift in this game😂🤣

nice video , i've been playing with this game for a bit now , and just for info u can drift flawlessly after rite tune and rite executionIts not easy , but it is very doable Btw a lot of you emulator heads seem to dont know that ps2 original controller , had pressure reactive buttons , so when u play this game on ps2 and press 'X' just a little , thorttle goes up just by a bit , same with brake , same with analogs and steering playing on keyboard or generic controler wont give you proper experience just to remind you , they dont make games like this no more PS2 best console ever Also tbh didnt like your comment on music in this game , i think its perfect

I missed out on NFS Carbon when it came out but in 2019 I played it through and had a kick out of it I liked the game, I won every event but the drifting I hate that forced drifting in that game, it handles differently compared to the actual racing, I tried it once or twice but figured it's just not for me and I could progress without it, so I didbrbrAnother game I had troubles with, especially taking hard turns was NFS-Hot Pursuit (2010) But last summer I tried it again after 10 years and some throwaway line told me during a loading screen how to drift and it was much-much more easier to handle the game and I just breezed right through it Right after that I picked up NFS-Rivals and I missed how the cars handled in Hot Pursuit, it was too easy this time but still had fun with that gamebrbrI have zero interest in this game but your challenges made me interested a bit, I'd like to try it but not that much that I look up a used copy this time
