I’ve watched many of Steve’s videos over the last several months Over this same period, I have been trying to learn German I both agree and disagree with Steve’s philosophy which, in a nutshell, is input, input, input, and forget grammar and exercises I entirely agree with the importance of large doses of input, both reading and listening/watching I very strongly disagree, however, that studying grammar and doing exercises are not helpful, especially for a language like German I would have been completely lost and very, very frustrated if I had not put considerable effort into trying to acquire the basis of German grammar I don’t expect myself to fully memorize and correctly apply the rules in the first month of study, but I keep refreshing the rules and declensions and over time they are taking root in my brain This would simply not be happening without purposeful study of grammar rules and declension charts Comment from : @fang_shi_tong |

It is best to learn languages at a young age so that we can have an enjoyable time and benefit from the information, especially if our language is not universal or weak Even international languages are good to learn English And at a young age We must not pressure our children to learn languages because it is just for fun, although it is very beneficial because we are not at the front, because children have small hearts, regardless of their gallbladder and spleen being afflicted with illness when they are young Therefore, under the age of 5, we must not put pressure on our children and give them a lot of tenderness and cuddles so that they become confident in themselves and do not fear when the mother and father are not with them or they are far from the child Comment from : @gelbblume9658 |

This lingQ app has a tremendous potential but for now is not good when it comes to the German language because of TWO MAJOR DOWNFALLS:br1 It does not give you the article of the noun!! knowing if the word is der/die/das is one of the most basic and important things in this language you cant start searching in a dictionary app for every noun you learn every time, it is not practical at allbr2 it does not recognise the Separable verbs (die trennbare Verben) when hearing and there is no option of pressing on both the verb and its prefix to combine the meaningbrbruntil they fix these two major issues or at least the der die das problem, this app is not worth the money at allbrbrDoes the article issue exist with the other languages ? because i guess most languages have an article to the nouns Comment from : @DarkSoul6484 |

Great motivating video As a native spanish speaker, I remember how I learned my ABC in english I was 16 and just discovered The Beatles, and I got a book with the lyrics of every song of them (and a dictionay) Two things you mentioned that I can confirm 1) reading anchors very effectively in your mind the sound to the word and the concept 2) music (I am pretty sure movies can do the same) makes all the learning a delicious way to walk Generally most of the people are intimidated with the challenge so take your favorite song, get the lyrics research a bit to translate and understand the meaning and begin to sing along Happy 2022! My family is mostly German I learned to speak German fluently by use of unconventional means Courses in institutions aren't enough First, I learned by researching topics of interest on the internet in German I would look up words in a dictionary and build my vocabulary Pronunciation and speaking I learned primarily playing Xbox You can switch the settings to Deutsch and the game would often be dubbed in German in addition to German subtitles I heard native speakers and mimiced the speech I was able to hear dialogue in realistic situations Unconventional but very effective Many Germans have told me I don't have a foreign accent Comment from : @davejoerger8928 |
