Lvlp is not good for thicker paints,,,lower pressure n smaller air horns

Just painted my truck yesterday and this time am done now but had a video of it but in the garage will see how it looks after tommorow after taking the plastic off I used a lvlp spray gun but the one was using at first was having problems was hearing a air noise when wasn't even spraying and couldn't get that spray gun working so switched to this other one it actually is a 17 spray gun and it didn't have the issue actually should of switched the 13 tip in it too but threw the spray gun in trash that had that problem with I have another 13 spray gun coming though got the ones been getting lately from Ali Express But here my video of after painted my truck youtube/oO2g_TFvR50

So, why does my lvlp need 8 cfm, my hf lvlp need 6 cfm, the hvlp Eastwood concours lt100 need 47 cfm? It seems to me that the airconsumption is not the only difference brThe biggest 110v only puts out 7 cfm 220 is not portable, big tanks are not brbrDo pressure feeds help air consumption?brbrMy lvlp consumes more air, and I don't think it is as fast, more narrow fan I don't get itbrbrMy old conventional used a 2 psi, I could get away with less thinning More thinning means more overspray The only time I see low overspray with hvlp, is when orange peel is acceptable I really think airless is the way to go, with super fine finishes and little need to thin The problems is that airless cleanout is not practical with overpriced auto finishes A whip probably hold a quart of material I think air assisted airlesses are the worst of both worlds and overpriced slow and hard to cleanout minor control improvement over the airless a 4 way fine finish tip offers total controlso, my point is that hvlp technology sucks I hate turbines, because they don't atomize without thinning and heat the paint overpriced too

Tony B Thanks for your informative vids Question With turbine HVLP the air hoses are noticeably thicker Assuming a compressed air HVLP gun needs more volume of air than a conventional spray gun, do the air hoses have to be thicker/larger circumference? Thanks in advance

I just painted my truck again recently but it didn't come out with a high gloss shine again is there anything I can do to make it shine because I saw online that not supposed to put wax on a painted vehicle for 3 months after you paint it but am getting rid of it soon anyway but it is hard for me to learn how to paint right but I just started in June trying to paint but it gonna take me a while to learn how to paint like a pro and I would get another different spray gun than I got now if I did reach that professional level Eventually probably would get the Black Widow spray gun I got a Harbor Freight 2999 spray gun now which is a cheap gun but as I am a beginner in first year it was alright to have but will eventually get rid of it

The best bang for your buck as far as an all around gun from my experience is a DeVilbiss FLG 5 You can get a 14-18 nozzles available for it and can be had for under $200 newIwata W400 Bellaria is also a very fantastic affordable gunIf you want to step up a bit for an all around diy gun ,my choice is the DeVilbiss Tekna Prolite
