Total scam as I read there are only 8 million ounces of 999 fine platinum in the world and platinum runs around $1000/ounce So unless you are using industrial grade platinum it isn't even possible as far as metal value goes

George doesn't seem to understand the difference between government-issued coins and Fed-issued dollars Coins the the US Mint issues incur no debt The Fed buys them from the Mint at face value and the difference between the cost to manufacture the coin and its face value is called "seignorage," which goes into the coffers of the Treasury brbrBy minting a $1 trillion coin, the government is essentially creating money without debt So it's totally different than how the Fed or commercial banks create money

Very powerful how you ended it with the fact that the Fed cannot print goods and services which is the achilles heel of this entire system its also the exact reason why we're seeing high inflation and shortages in everything right now A move to printing 1T coins/MMT or whatever creative solution they come up with could be the final step to destroying all remaining confidence in the system overseas people forget that when the Fed instituted QE originally it was supposed to be temporarily and they convinced the market that they could unwind it and make it look like "watching paint dry"! that's why i believe they will need to move onto another gimmick soon now that QE requires more and more input to keep the economy alive

The only thing the Pt coin solves is the debt ceiling Because they have an additional $1Tr in their reserve account they can borrow another $1Tr though issuing more treasuries Yellen won't likely do this because it's a massive PR disaster and she wants to taint the Republicans with a bipartisan spending spree If the Republicans won't play ball she might have to do this, she may have no other option but in reality it's just raising the debt ceiling to infinity Will this be inflationary?
