Living in UK I can honestly say 4yrs old child is waaaay too young to sit at school from 9am to 3pm! Way too young My son was in Reception when first lockdown was announced and boy was I happy! And boy was he happy outside playing in the garden or park every day That’s what children need! Movement, lots of playtime outside, exploring They need to be allowed to be chilled not to be forced into silly uniforms and stuck in the class with strangers telling them what to do all day Their brains are not ready for that at the age of 4! They still need home and parents comforting and they don’t get that from strange teachers All these researchers most probably never picked ups tired crying child from the school at 3pm And if you think education stops people from misbehaving and antisocial behaviour, tell me why UK prisons are so full, why there’s so many bullying at schools and workplaces, so many thieves breaking into houses and cars, so many stabbed children, so much police? And let’s not start with mental health issues as that’s a one big disaster that this country just like to talk a lot but doesn’t do anything about! Why if education is so great? Like every other standardized test, the PISA test does not predict how happy someone's life will be I certainly wouldn't have wanted a childhood geared to doing well on a test I didn't want my children to live life that way either I have one child with an IQ of 145 and another with an IQ of 110 They had very different levels of success in school, but I would say that both are equally successful in career and in life They both have found ways to be excellent in their callings Comment from : @edwmac |
