I like my odds of losingbrbrmaximum risk, punishment only, no reward, and die if rest is neededbrno matter how I reward myself, it's taken away because it's bad for me as they saybrbrlike this one time I rewarded myself by buying a cheap as fuck controller for performing well in a semester, only to be found out by my family to be thrown away and not to be seen againbrone time I bought my own bike, unable to use it due to how busy I get, and they decided to sell it off since I'm not using it and just for "the clout" of wanting to try to bikebrand buying notebooks to try to progress myself, write on it, and they open it to scold me for what I've written which is supposedly not to be opened but my room doesn't have a doorbrbrI guess I'm just seeing everything so negative now I'm pretty sure that if they managed to read this comment right here I'll be scolded for being negative brbrI like my odds of losing Comment from : @tantwoo3865 |

- 🕹 Video games have a well-defined storyline that provides clarity of objectives and feedback on progress, unlike studying
br- 🎮 Video games provide low risk, high reward situations, unlike the high-stakes single attempts in exams which can lead to fear of failure
br- 😄 Video games instill FOMO (fear of missing out) through rewards, leaderboards, and social interactions, which keep players consistently engaged
br- 📊 To improve studying habits, create opportunities to track progress and implement self-assessments regularly to gain clarity of objectives
br- 🏆 Break down high-risk goals into smaller, low-risk objectives to make studying more manageable and less daunting
br- 🌟 Leverage healthy FOMO for studying by creating social accountability with study groups or friends, fostering competition, collaboration, and motivation
br- ⚙ Be consistent with studying habits, consider external rewards, such as a personal rewards system, to maintain motivation and track progress effectively
br- 🎯 Ultimately, by applying strategies from video games like clear objectives, risk management, and FOMO to studying, you can achieve academic success through consistency and hard work Comment from : @Ranas-qm8vn |

I don't get it why not study normal ? In my opinion anyone that don't study but either watch anime or play video games is just someone who like to see others working hard for their dream because everyone he watch in anime always work hard and don't feel like he want to waste his time same for video games because if u want to finish it you should put your character into some real troubles and level up too many times by working hard so that your character purpose gets fulfilled So what im trying to say is that we should look far away like now true i know i should be studying for an exam that's 3 months away so i have time to say i can start tomorrow than it turn into a week that's wasted and i know i study absolutely nothing than i start to realize exams are in one month and i did nothing than failure will be the only thing to achieve however if i looked far like 4-5 years later i get the idea that school won't last long and my life will change by 180 degrees so i get the idea of wanting to study for a better future because video games ain't going to make me an employee who's respected Comment from : @har-oun8818 |

for me what I do to get addicted in school is remembering what I did in school like acing a filipino test or successfully get the answer right or having fun in class in general, its like remembering your wins and losses, just to clarify it more its like a game, if you win you get addicted but if you lose you lose that addiction Comment from : @Raxxel-n7v |
|
Analogies always work, right? I need to try this out more often while I´m studying I have a concern though and I´ve heard that from a doc, we need to be cautious if we need rewards frequently That´s not healthy! Comment from : @thaisecairess |

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:brbr00:54 📚 bVideo games provide a well-defined storyline and clear objectives, giving players a sense of progress and purpose In contrast, students often lack clarity on their academic journey, leading to uncertainty and frequent major changes/bbr03:43 🎮 bVideo games offer low-risk, high-reward scenarios with unlimited attempts and experimentation In academics, the high stakes of exams make failure impactful and discourage risk-taking Breaking down goals into smaller, achievable objectives can reduce perceived risks/bbr06:16 🤝 bVideo games create a fear of missing out (FOMO) through rewards, bonuses, and social interaction Applying healthy FOMO in academics involves creating social accountability, studying groups, and a personal reward system to foster consistency and collaboration/bbr09:19 🏆 bLeveraging external motivation, tracking progress, and cultivating consistent habits in academics can lead to a sense of accomplishment surpassing that of video games, providing a more fulfilling and euphoric experience/bbrbrMade with HARPA AI Comment from : @teencoachlevi |

The issue is literally that too many people are developing adhd minds even when they dont have adhd Why are people needing immediate rewards for hard work? Social media and video games are actually the problem Cut those things down as much as possible so that your mindset doesnt develop bad habits Dopamine is a drug Comment from : @issaciams |
|
The girl I like introduced me to your videos, and this one came up because I’ve returned to school and I’m a big nerd Love this way of breaking it down because I’ve been saying this in other ways and it doesn’t seem to click with my friends So hopefully this makes sense to them Also I have a Mike who is also awful at mid, so I understand not letting him have that sweet mid position Comment from : @Buffdoggy |
|
What I'm wondering, though, can these 'small rewards' ever compete with the rush that video games provide? I quit gaming 15 years ago to pursue 'real life' In this relatively short time, I have achieved many things I never thought I could And yet, I haven't ever felt the same rush that video games provide me and I'm wondering if I should implement video games again as a type of reward system to make life fun again? Comment from : @tomzor8971 |
|
This video has been very informative I'm dealing with low attention span making it difficult for me to stay focused on studying Sometimes, I get really overwhelmed with the amount of material I need to study given the limited time to prep for a test I hope these learning strategies with enable me to become an effective learner Comment from : @bonitataramikaylag4187 |
