I had my water cut off as itll save me $64 a month I now get my water from 3 pure springs that have never gone dry n over 200 years I have a v good water filter N i put the savings to my bills Im trying to get off grid and thus out of debtASAP at same time planting dwarf fruit trees grapes n berries n a garden n hydroponic gzrden over 4x4 fish tank

Our children were allowed to purchase their school lunches once each term There are four terms in our school year The same lunch boxes are still in use for my husband and I 13 years later Indeed a little scratched, but serviceable and they have saved us thousands upon thousands of dollars And nowThanks be to God, our children are just about as frugal as we are as home owners Kia Ora from New Zealand

I used paper diapers on child #1: continual diaper rash I used cloth diapers on child #2: never had diaper rash And even with a diaper service, was cheaper than disposables!

Either using vinegar in the rinse will sanitize your laundry or hanging outside in the sun will sanitize your laundry

I do save but I enjoy shopping, I don't skimp on food and I do buy new clothes every month, I do like to look nice when I walk out the door but I do save a lot on bills, I must admit that I really wouldn't be happy being frugal with everything, we all need some pleasure in life to keep us going

I’ve found money before and unless I’m really financially desperate I put it in to a charity pot I feel very uncomfortable keeping money that could have been lost by someone drawing their benefits or pension If I was poor though I would keep it brbrOne day I was driving to the shops and there were 100’s of £20 notes flying all over the road 😳 I couldn’t stop but when I went back they’d all gone! 😂

I found $600 at the local markets and handed it into the staff (hoping it got back to its owner) Whilst I could have kept it and used it at the time, it was the right thing to do I’ve found that being honest meant I didn’t have a guilty conscious and that when I’ve had difficult times, somehow it seems to come together (not always a windfall) I’ve only just started my frugal journey 3 weeks ago, but I’ve learnt so much from you guys already :0)

💰💲 I have a FOUND MONEY cookie jar that I put all of my found change and the occasional dollars from the ground, sidewalks, etc One year I collected $23 in coins I feel with this money since it is not my money, I donate it to someone or an organization (and can be used as a tax deduction as well)

Its really scary when you live paycheck to paycheck Im glad I got out of debt recently but now I have to focus on saving up an emergency fund My problem is that I really need a second part time job but Im already exhausted from the 32 hours a week I work Ever since covid the easy retail jobs have become much harder because of short staff

Cash is actually psychologically harder to spend than money direct deposited into a bank account because you have to physically part with it rather than just swipe a debit card Also when saving money in dollars please remember you are losing 15 a year to inflation, you have to take that into account especially for longer term savings goals And yes it is 15 not 8 the CPI is bs

Australia doesn’t have anything like coupons or cash back systems at all and EVERYTHING is really expensive You can’t buy broccoli for 49 cents You’d pay something like $4 a bunch!

Cold water wash works just fine I've been doing that for years! Also, been hang drying my clothes for about 7 years Make my own detergent too I can't begin to know exactly how much money I've saved on laundry over the years!

My husband found $500 at Dairy Queen He let the manager know, didn’t tell him the amount and gave him our phone number Someone did come forward called us and knew the exact amount He came to our home, in his Ferrari, to get the cash but gave us $100 as a thank you

My Grama never bought aluminum foil When a neighbor brought a plate of food to her she'd clean the foil from it and put it in her oven She was very generous to everyone but saved money when it came to herself She was an angel! br When she was around 80 I talked her into going to the mall to buy her a new dress Her dresses were just fine and looked nice but she hadn't bought a new one in decades

I haven’t found significant money on the ground while walking, but I did find $66 earlier this evening while cleaning out a cabinet Based on the other items that I found near it, I’m guessing that money sat in that cabinet since April or May Given that I was working full time in May and am currently not working so that I can finish my Master’s degree, that $66 definitely feels like a nice windfall and should pay for the gas I need to drive to and from my internship site the remainder of this semester 😊

When the toilet paper shortages started, we still had a good deal of it stocked I admit it, we were tempted to buy more when we saw it due to the panic But we saw all the pictures of at risk folk not being able to get any and it broke our hearts After considering all kinds of frankly gross alternatives, we had a light bulb moment We just went on Amazon and bought a bidet It was weird at first, but now we don't like using the restroom without one You use just enough tp to pat dry, as the water cleans it all off, cutting our tp usage to a fraction of what it once was and we feel so much CLEANER The water usage is minimal, and we saved a lot of money and headache on TP The Bidet itself only cost us about $30, but we have save multiple times that in since

Love the cloth diapers, cloth wipes, cloth menstrual pads, cold water laundry, hang dry and reusing containers are thrifty AND great for the environment Double bonus on those!
