Dentist here, honestly the husband didn't do a bad job, and I have had patients try to do worse things at home to save money Obviously I would never recommend doing this yourself Removing a tooth can cost around $150 or a bit more I have patients tell me that I just want to rip them off with all this stuff, but I'll give a small explanation why dental procedures can cost a lot First, I own the office which means I pay rent, pay for the equipment, and pay my employees Those employees technically include myself, the assistant, and the front desk Let's say the tooth pulling takes 30 minutes I have to pay myself, the assistant, and the front desk 30 minutes of time I don't pay them minimum wage, I want to take care of my workers 30 mins can be 10-20$ per person there So now the cost is around $30 of overhead I also need to make money I'm a dental professional who has debt and went to both college and dental school for a total of 8 years That warrants a pay boost BUT, I obviously just earn based on profits per month, so I cant pay what percentage of the extraction I actually make I will say this, I barely make any money from pulling teeth Plumbers make more an hour The money I actually make is from crowns, root canals, implants, dentures, etc The more complicated stuff These things sound expensive, but its tough to do properly I have no remorse for charging what I charge because I give my patients high quality care Sadly I cant say the same for many of my colleagues

As a dental assistant I’m crying lmaooobrShe probably ended up going back because you can’t pull your own tooth safely There is probably tooth left in the socket and I’m sure she doesn’t know how to heal it properly and all Ahhh don’t recommend thisss 😭😭brThis is also very unsanitary and just unsafe in general omfg Never do this, you can get financial aid and payments to be made and extractions aren’t usually that much if the procedure goes as planned Please NEVER do this brold rusty forceps that aren’t even actual dental instruments…
