I had a Bosch front loader that was awful and lasted less than 4 years Repaired twice and I gave up Now my Samsung had the bearings replaced and few years ago but is always unbalanced now I’m trying speed queen now and hope I get lucky

Not the best way to look at failure rates The 3 “best”, removing speed queen…are the least popular You would have to factor in number of units sold vs search results to understand the number of failures Many more Toyotas break down than Lamborghinis, doesn’t mean a lambo is reliable

The older Whirlpool washers have the best top load agitators I have an old Kenmore-Whirlpool and a newer (8 yr) Whirlpool that keeps showing up on Ben’s videos As he mentioned, “you can diagnose any problem with the led dial, and you need that because of their breakdowns” He’s right However, since I fix everything myself that breaks, these are my preferred washers The parts store seems to have all the parts I need The newer washer is a wtw4816fw1

Yes - Speed Queen is top of the line…but mine was really tough on my clothes I noticed a distinct amount of abrasion on the seams and hems of my items when I had one…and believe me - I religiously sort clothes into “like piles” since my husband works construction…so no rough, no grimy jeans and work shirts mixed with my cotton tops and unmentionables, please!!💕

Wow, I've done basically everything wrong, and I've had no issues! I guess I'm just lucky? We have a Samsung front loader I have never run any form of clean cycle on it, we shove it as full as it'll take, we fill the detergent up to the top, we run it with hard water, I clean that little filter at the bottom of the machine roughly every 3 years, and the thing has been working flawlessly for the last 12 years giving us beautifully clean clothes without any maintenance whatsoever!

There's a simple reason why front loaders are now slightly more reliable than top loaders Top loaders are being made much worse than they were before, while front loaders are being made only slightly worse brI think your methodology for determining frequency of repair by using internet searches is flawed br Before I buy a major appliance I search to find out the most common repairs for the units I'm considering - AND- what information is available for repair I cost the repair parts and I determine whether I could do the work I use that to compare probable life cycle costs I also do this with other machinery like carsy simpler than average and cost less

I have been married 39 years, when I got married my best friend gave me his old machines that had been given to them when they got married a few years earlier! The machines were Kenmore, and had been in my friends wifes family for a decade I had to replace them 3 years ago! Raised two children In the new golden age we need to go back and build mechanical machines that are durable!

I don’t know if we got a lemon But our speed queens have been trouble for us The dryers heat element goes out a lot We have had ours for 4 years and about once a year we have had to replace the heating element in our dryer Currently we are dealing with the washer stopping mid cycle and leaving a tub full of water Not fun!!

If you are going to buy a new washer and dryer make sure to do your homework We made the mistake of buying a new GE profile set in 2025 We only had them one day and returned them, absolute junk No matter what we did it would never fill up with water leaving the clothes on top dry half way through the wash We ended up buying a Speed Queen TR7003WN washer along with the TR7003DR dryer You can see them at 5:50 & 7:70 the set with the digital controls in the background

I killed my TROMM LG, an excellent machine,by using the wrong detergent It was caked around the spin thing and the motor locked up and burned out I was devastated It was a 120000 washer in 2004 It’s dryer still works like a champ Use the correct detergent!

The problem with the internet failure searches is you have to factor in the number of units out there Bosch and Meile may not have near the machines as say Samsung so those percentages are naturally going to be lower
