I find it odd that you would need to hydrate trimmer line It's made from nylon which is one of the most hydroscopic polymers there is Ask any one that 3d prints with nylon how much of a PITA this stuff is because it can literally absorb enough moisture from a couple of hours of exposure to open air to make it unsuitable to print with Perhaps this is an issue for people that live in places that have low relative humidity or store their line in a hot environment I guess most stores have air con which will remove a lot of moisture from the air as wellbrbrPersonally I find the square line to be the best Been a professional gardener for 17years and tried a few different types of line Always go back to the square stuff Cuts clean and fast and doesn't bog down the machine as easy Got tangled a couple of times on older head designs but I've never had this issue on the new speed feed head designs Comment from : @ashleywhitehead3710 |

I quit using trimmer line I swapped the hub out for the kind with the 4 nylon blades Lets me just cut stuff without having to constantly stop and adjust the line length Blades last a long time and are easy and quick to replace Also, after buying fancy expensive trimmers, I now use the cheapest trimmer I could find and I've had it for nearly 7 years Comment from : @dsbennett |

Trimmer line has always been my nemisis It often doesn't feed like it's supposed to I have a new Stihl, and I do like it, but again, not the trim line, so I replace it with a universal head that has pre-cut trimmer line, about 8", that attaches on the outside, in three places It lasts for the session and is super simple to replace Nothing to remove any longer, no spring, no frustration Trimming is fun, again Comment from : @davegoren9978 |

I trim a few properties in Vermont Stone walls, rocks on driveway edges and drainage ditches; grass to weeds to heavy vegetation of all kinds I have a Stihl trimmer, mid range in cc's with a straight shaft I agree with everything said in the video Bought small quantities of different kinds of line to test Settled on buying a large roll of round line and it works as well or better than anything in all the conditions I find myself working in I will begin to soak the line to see how that works - chances are keeping it in a storage container like I've been doing isn't enough Comment from : @pafrazier56 |
|

Hey Chickanic! can you do a video on how to bulletproof the trimmer head? Comment from : @jasonm106 |

If you aren't doing it for a living, don't buy a five pound spool If you have electric the edged line works great iI tried four different brands on my gas echo Most melted inside the head from being too gummy and having edges I settled on the Husqvarna Titanium plus, Round orange line with a core The heat of it beating against the concrete doesn't travel up the line as fast And as long as you bump it enough you will go through a feed of line with no issues on the 400 auto feeder Comment from : @don2deliver |
