Im in this situation and the insurance coverage is 100k but my insurance company only wants to pay 25k and now im being sued How can my coverage not cover its policy limits like that? StateFarm

my son was in a fender bender, minimal damage to both cars, noone reported injuries on the scene police report did not declare fault because both said the other ran the red light my son had the right of way, the other car made a left in front of him and insurance is claiming my son is 60 at fault other driver is demanding 100k for injuries and pain and suffering, medical bills less than 20k can the insurance refuse to settle even if i ask them to? right now i dont know who to trust, should i just have them pay the outrageous amount to get it done with? or should i just wait and see if the other party is really going to take it to court?

I had a auto accident February 2020 and I was at fault A year later I was served by the other party and being sued The other party has the same insurance company I do However, I have $50,000 medical coverage policy on my auto insurance but they had "way more" him and his wife sued me for over 4 million, which is astronomical My insurance company gave me an lawyer and now my lawyer is asking me to speak to a bankruptsy lawyer to file bankrupsy I reached out for a consultation this week
