I amp an English teacher for kids Based on my experience by using both physical and digital flashcards, Physical flashcards somehow better than digital one especially for kids We can use those for playing many kinds of games so it will help the children a lot to remember the word

You come across as smug and an authority but there are so many studies that prove that the process of writing out flashcards on paper is far superior to using digital flash cards as it creates more layers of neural connections,, is more focused and deliberate, far fewer distractions, muscle memory, many benefits It seems inefficient when I was a student of Russian Language, first two years I filled shoeboxes full of 3x5 cards nearly up to my ceiling, kept a notebook with schedule for review, ie 'spaced repetition system', but paper based it's superior, try it, it's worth the extra expense, effort, space inefficiency, Paper is just superior for spaced repetition

There was a study that showed students who took notes with their laptop performed worse than the students who wrote their notes, and the students who wrote their notes did worse in the class when near a student who typed out their notes compared to a student who was writing their notes out and not near a student who typed out their notes Flash cards are effective, just useless without any active instilled into them when trying to memorize them Memorization requires full attention, hard to do that when laptops can easily distract an individual
